If you think about it...how can a doctor tell if a prostate is enlarged just by feeling it with one finger? I would think you would need at least 2 reference points to tell the size.
I think the doctors just tell every patient with prostate problems that it is enlarged. It makes them important and all knowing.

I agree with A.D. They don't know. I had one doctor do the finger test and he said he thought it felt alright. I have done my own sort of finger test up there and I have no idea if its enlarged or not. I wish I would have checked it before these problems so I knew the difference.

@Iwillbeatthis I am 100 percent sure there was some kind of inflammation, but I cant be sure it was my prostate. One doctor said it was my prostate and a urologist said it was urethral scarring (he seemed like a dusche though)

jofus it could be your colon. look into interstitial cystitis. most men are told they have prostatitis when they have IC. look ingto your colon. if it is inflammed it will push on the prostate. the colon is in contact with the prostate up to 3/4. as puresong said cure the whole body and the prostate will follow.
i had a painful prostate on touch with massage but it is getting less and less. i would have to also say but not sure it maybe getting smaller. saw palmetto did nothing for me. milking helped. but i had a lot of help with the colonic.

i have read that IC id almost the same symptoms as prostatitis (mimic) a problem with the colon would give other problems too pain above the pelvis.

clean flush detox diet is working. the mms was a high speed to getting clean and flushed i total recommend it.

I got duffle bags full of the bamboo i talked about previously. I happened to read a bunch of studies about this kind of bamboo and its effect on the prostate. I started to think that it had a lot to do with my recovery. a chinese organization just applied for a patent on a prostate medication with bamboo as the main ingredient.

I dont think it is a good idea to go to japan right now, the power is out in a lot of places. I replied to your pm @iwillbeatthis. The company I got the stuff from is donating the seaweed they make to the affected areas because it protects the intestines from radiation. pretty amazing stuff. I am really freaked out I have family there.

My naturopath Dr. thinks that my problem is caused by over exerting my self over a long period of time. More specificaly in the prostate/groin area. I don't know about you guys, I didn't have a healthy diet before this happened, and I only now realize how bad I was starving my body of vital elements. That coupled with over use of your testicles can cause great stress on your body. He says, and I tend to agree with him, that it takes a lot of energy for your body to produce sperm. As well your adrenal glands are on your kidneys, and have a lot to do with your prostate and testies. This is why I think some of us get the lower back/kidney pain as well, but check out with good kidney function. I look back and notice that I was getting more and more fatigued over the last year or so leading up to this. I read somewhere that your ejaculating to much if you are fatigued. My dr. told me to stop working out at the gym until I heal, and no ejaculating. I also had a mercury filling removed 2 months prior to my full blown prosatitis symptoms. I found this little gem of a post here. https://www.natmedtalk.com/mens-health/2466-breakthrough-study-links-prostate-cancer-depression-ibs-adrenal-fatigue.html And realized that mercury messes with your thyroid as well. Funny how so many have also mentioned the seeming link between ibs, or at least bowel movents and prostate problems. I know that I was also experiencing bouts of depression leading up to this. I wonder if perhaps my mercury filling, coupled with my poor diet, cronic dehydration of my body, and over use of my manhood has put me in this postion. Then I started hitting the gym hard 6 months ago, putting a lot more stress on my body, and not allowing it to properly detox it self or give it the nutrients it needs.

I know this is a long clumsy post, but I just wanted you guys to see what I am throwing around in my head incase it might help some of you.

Nice post Jofus,

Your story/explanation sounds just like mine Seems like you found a good naturopath, I think he knows what he's talking about. It took me a year and a half to reach the conclusions you have already!

I also overexerted myself physically, in a big way... I was doing martial arts classes and competing every day for like 2 years as well as having lots of sex, drinking, smoking pot, sitting a lot.. thought I was invincible, I sure felt like it for a while

Then I had some bad relationship problems with my girlfriend which really stressed me out for a long time, started having anxiety problems, kept overworking myself, my immune system and digestive systems started weakening, then I got the flu really bad for like 2-3 weeks, and instead of letting myself recover, went right back to training all the time.. things were down hill from there.. developed full on panic disorder, having panic attacks almost daily for months, agoraphobia, etc.. I felt fatigued all the time, started waking up in the middle of the night, started fatiguing during exercise very quickly.. then I also went through a depression.. shortly after all that I started having weak erections + urinary symptoms + occasional cloudy urine = prostatitis..

Saw a few doctors who werent very helpful, one who gave me a month of antibiotics + viagra, etc. they just made me more sick.

Over time I gradually made the connection with overworking myself physically, mentally and sexually. So I made an effort to cut back/heal all 3.. now I dont do as much martial arts, and a more gentle style, and I do yoga 3 times a week, I saw a psychologist for anxiety which helped, but worked on that a lot myself, now I dont have panic attacks anymore, I also made an effort to cut back on my ejaculations. I also have adjusted my diet to exclude irritating foods and add in all the good ones.

Doing very well at the moment.. I still dont feel like im 100% where I was before all this started if im being honest (2 years later) but I only get better and better with time. My physical endurance is back, my mind is relatively calm, im happy, sexually im doing pretty well, but my libido isnt quite what it once was.. as far as urinary stuff.. only minor symptom is a slight bit of weak stream at the end.. or I get like 1/2 drops that can come out after I stop peeing, but I have a method to deal with it, where I just rub the urethra to milk it out.

I agree that once you get to this point, it takes time to get better.. so dont freak out if you dont find a magic pill that cures you in a minute... for me its been 2 years and im at like 90%..

I also have had digestive issues though as well and I believe its all connected. My digestion has been improving though with diet, lifestyle. I have unusual looking stools, gas, burping.. There is definitely a connection..

I also have and had tense pelvic floor muscles, and ive seen some therapists to work on it, with some improvement.
