Default Sleepiness after eating.

That's what it sounds like to me too, Marilyn, a spike followed by a crash
after ingesting a large amount of food. Like what happens to many on
Thanksgiving Day.
However, I do agree that starting your day with some sort of easy to fix
breakfast would be a good beginning to try. What about a small bowl of
cottage cheese for protein and fresh fruit like blueberries/blackberries, or
raspberries, strawberries, or a nectarine that doesn't have to be peeled.
This kind of light breakfast would be healthy and quick/easy to do, DO!
Good luck!

Thank you all for your suggestions. And hope all that are in the states enjoyed the holiday weekend.
Yes, there is importance of eating in the am. Even when I was a very young child the thought of a meal early makes me sick. My partner eats whilst I am on my am jog. Its filling and has always drained me. When a child and forced to eat breakfast I would be sluggish. As an adult and have am meetings where a breakfast is served, it is the same. But please, I am not ignorant. My religion is all about taking care of oneself and the earth. Yogurt is all my body can bear in the late morning. This is not a full meal, and only on occasion. A full submarine sandwich is overindulging for some of us. I have a small stomach but am not small. I jog daily and have a boxing routine weekly. I am tall and well/feminine built. This is the way I've always been, with little to no problems.
As far as stress is concerned, I do feel that it could be a factor but its difficult to eliminate some stressful situations that must be dealt with. {Such as, a wedding, a death, a life threating health issue, and a divorce all in my close family}. That is when there is a reach out for assistance from a physician, and herbologist.
This has been going on for longer than these stresses. And quite frankly I never think of it when seeing the good doc. I have thought briefly to get my blood sugar checked. That is very much like it. For dinner I cook everything from scratch, so after serving and cleaning I sit and rest. It's become a joke to see how long until I'm unconscious. I'll sleep then for about 2 hours. This happens even on my personal/relax days. The lunch is the new one and the one that worried me a twinge. A simple sandwich can put me under for a 30 min nap.

I understand your eating habits - I have a good friend who is a marathon runner - he only eats one full meal a day and has done so since his youth - he is 59 years old, started (competition) running in his 40s and in excellent health.

Not that I would recommend that way of living to others but it is what his body is used to.

Maybe visit your herbalist and discuss your issues there - it was a herbalist that first geared me towards better health.

Sounds like you my be having hypoglycemia, which is actually a precursor to diabetes in some people. You need to get your blood sugar checked and I would think that it needs to be done during that down time when you feel that you must go to sleep. It is better to know for sure what is going on with your chemistry, then try to figure out how to deal with in a natural way.
