Default prostatitis

hello everybody, i am dealing with prostatitis. it feels like an infection but there hasnt been one found. i am dealing with antibiotics again but they are losing effect which must have only been on an anti inflamatory basis.

i am picking up from my natropath a herbal tonic to promote circulation in that area.

i was wondering if anybody could lend a hand an ear or a heart and help me with ways, ideas or thoughts on recovering and hopefully healing from this

peace and love
jeff

If no infection has been found, I would not take the anit-biotics. I am saying this from experience. Make sure you have a prostate fluid collection and have it cultured for both bacteria and fungal infection.
Also here is a link that may help, it describes a reason why sometimes anti-biotics or anti-fungals are not successful, and also describes a treatment that may help.

thanks guys, i am really glad i recieved your replies. i havent had any bacteria ever found just white blood cell counts out of wack.

i have had a lot of off and on pus during and after urinating. clear white prostate secretions to be exact. i have cold to touch scrotum and penis, very sad. pain in the testes the whole penis, the perineum area between the anus and scrotum. tightening of the penis and testes cold small and painful. i have been nauseous and flu like feverish. although not sick now. i have had pain in the prostate from the abdomen. so time contipation. i also think i suffered from hair loss because of it. not stressing but the body may be. i have libido issues and the lack of feeling of any joy.

one reason i felt it may be fungis is that i feel severe after 8 weeks of cipro. i started when i had zero symptoms after the last abs for what they thought was an std. i kept thinking it was a hot tub that gave me an infection wbc but there were never any germs found. the uro (jerk) told me early last year that my current girlfriend had given me something. i have been repeatedly treated without the proper facts and tests. so very sad. now my life is a living hell.

my body is telling me it is an infection but i am lost. i have lost 40lbs in a short period of time.

i would love for you to share with me what you had jofus so i may compare. i met 1 person online that has prostatitis and i feel that ours are very different. maybe ours are similar.

thanks again for your time guys. hate to be corny but what a great site full of great people. i posted q's on a prostatitis forum and everybody is nice but 99% seem pissed off. it is a very sad thing. i am greatful that someone cares and wants to hear. i cant believe the early involvement. thanks again guys.

Not corny at all, appreciate your comment. That's one of the main reasons I joined the forum here, and stuck around for so long. Happy you're here with us, one more great and caring person to share experiences and info with.

As for what I have, I am not sure yet. I was originally diagnosed with epididymitis caused by chlymidia or gonhrrea and treated accordinly. Test revealed that was not the cause, and of course the anti-biotics that I was given did not work (tetracyclin and then Cipro). My doctor has since told me that he believes it well go away on his own so I am in the process of going to another doctor and getting an appointment with a specialist. I have been experimenting in the mean time with alternative treatments, including DMSO, MMS, and Colloidal silver, all with varying degrees of improvement. Right now I am sitting tight until I see the specialist. I want to narrow down what is causing the problem and then try and treat accordingy.
I have also change my diet quite a bit and added some supplements. Trying to get my body in prime condition for fighting what ever it is and rebuilding.

so have you tested positive for a bacteria? or just a high white blood cell count? you are right about the fight! i dont know if what i have is a virus, microbial or a fungus. i am treating bacteria now and hoping for the best.

i am taking large quantities of allicin 12 a day in hopes of that reaching into the prostate and killing what may be lying in there hiding. i have a great deal of prostate secretions but no positive results for bacteria. something is most definitely wrong though.

your right diet is very important at this stage for us. i am down almost 40 lbs in a few months. i cant afford to lose anymore but i guess after cipro my intestines are slow working and i have no appetite. i eat fruit and veg with some meats or fish. i loved breads pastas but my body seems to not respond well every since i got sick.

there seem to be some great people on this site who care. its amazing. they should be doctors because once an md gets his degree it seems they become business men and lose focus on healing people. if they cared a bit we would all be diagnosed better and treated on time.

good luck jofus

As of right now I have not tested postive for anything, but I have only had a urine test for STDs. This week I have been have symptoms of Prostatis, frequency urinating and decreased flow. I have also had pains in the pelvic region that vary in intensity and location. My urine has been darker, foamy and has more of a stink to it. I have only been drinking water lately and now cranberry juice in case its a bladder infection from what ever is bugging me. I started adding Grapefruit seed extract to my cranberry juice.

Honestly, this may not wanna be what you want to hear... but I think time heals this problem.. now, im not suggesting you do nothing, do whatever you can to make it better but I think over time it will get better naturally.. thats been my experience.

I was given antibiotics .. but I will never take them again unless my life depends on it.. they are just not necessary. Even if you did have an infection you could treat it naturally.. but you probably dont.. your prostate can become inflamed from stress, bad foods, and tension in the pelvic floor.

I suggest you go see a pelvic floor therapist and have them assess your pelvic floor muslces, i'd be willing to bet they are tense and full of trigger points which cause inflamation which spreads to the prostate, the prostate has muscles in it too.. May also be diet/stress related.. or all 3 like I think it was for me.

Did you ejaculate a lot? For me, I used to be sort of sex obcessed and used to ejaculate way too often.. I think this can also cause a problem over time.

I suggest you stop eating caffeine (coffee, chocolate, energy drinks), spicy food (salsa, chillies, pepper) alcohol and any recreational drugs, cut back on dairy, no processed foods, no candy/lots of sugar, cut back on simple carbs.

Then make sure you are sleeping well every night.. 8 good hours of sleep. Drink lots of good quality water.. maybe pick up yoga or meditation etc. De-stress yourself, go get a massage regularly.

Cut back on ejaculating.. once a week at most for a while.

Practice deep abdominal breathing, try and breathe into your pelvic floor.. feel your pelvis/anus drop down when you inhale. Stop straining on the toilet.. consciously check into your pelvic floor through out the day and relax it.. dont hold tension down there.. see if your squeezing your butt when stressed etc.

Now that your digestive system has been screwed by cipro/antibiotics like mine was, you need to heal that right away.. take probitiocs, etc. figure that situation out.

Try not to sit for extended periods of time, get up and move around every 20 minutes.. practice lighlty stretching your legs/hips daily, but dont overdo it.

Get sunlight, fresh air, go for hikes, go for a walk every now and then.

Okay /rant.. basically just get as healthy as you can in every way.. thats what ive been trying to do.. I think these prostate issues are just a wake up call, a call to action, its your body telling you that you need to take better care of it. listen!

great great post! i am not 100% on everything but am seriously thinking that way for my particular situation.

you should never rule out an infection. god knows the havoc that could do untreated.

i think masterbation is now unnatural and the prostate doesnt get a massage before release from the hips or pelvic bones rubbing so that creates an over use issue. i agree with recreational drugs because they mess with the neurological system.

i have had this all come to me since friday. i know its early but i have had some luck with large doses of "magnesium" i was offered it as a substitute for a herb that is no longer available in canada called kava kava. so basically these things relax the muscles of the body. also letting go of any external stresses asap. yes if this is truly not an infection time will help heal but quercetin while help relieve the pain for either issue.

anyway great post by moxsum and i wish everybody recovery or remission! i was close to suicidal. i never thought this would end. it is the worst thing mind or body and steals your soul. i spent 2 and a half months in agony the first 3 weeks in bed dying. if you have prostate issues ( i was asystematic twice before and antibiotics suppressed it, maybe due to anti inflammatory reasons or not) stay off bicycling or horseback riding or motorcycles! do not unless there is a prostate specific seat.

god bless!

Default what do you think

Hello all
I HAVE HAD THIS CONDITION FOR AROUND SEVEN YRS. MY SYMPTOMS ARE HARD TIME PASSING URINE AND CONSTANT URGE TO URINE leakage after I urinate I do get an erection just not as hard as it should be and as of late I have been cumming really quick I mean five minutes or less yesterday my n*ts where hurting for the 1st time I SOMETIMES HAVE BURING IN MY PELVIS AREA BUT MOSTLY JUST DISCOMFORT NOT QUIT PAIN. I HAVE USED SAW PALMETTO AND HELPS WITH PASSING URINE BUT MAKES ME BLOATED AND HAS MY STOMACH BUBBLY MAKES STRANGE NOISE AND WHAT NOT. I THINK IT BOTHERS MY LIBIDO/ERECTION OR COULD BE WHEN MY STOMACH IS NOT FEELING GOOD I DONT FEEL LIKE SEX.

I ALSO TRIED SIVER WATER DID NOTHING FOR ME MAYBE I GOT THE WRONG KIND BUT THE KIND I GOT IS SUPPOSE TO BE IONIC COLLIDLE SIVER WATER 10PPM.( SIVER WORKS) I THINK I WILL TRY ANOTHER BRAND.
HAS ANYONE HEAR TRIED PROSTATE MIRACLE WAS THINKING OF TRYING I have never done prostate massage as I am uncomfortable with the thought of putting my hand or anything else in my a** let alone letting my wife do this. what do you all think of saw palmetto and can I get better with out prostate massage.

I have had my urine tested and fonud nothing. my UR did a prostate massage but nuthing came out after he done the massage for about one maybe two mins he was done and had me give some urine they found nothing

I have been dealing with this condition since 2003 at first I just ignored it and just keep living but just this summer I made the decision to try and beat it bad mistake every since I made that decision its all I can think about its been almost seven months now and it as bout drove me crazy I cant get it out my mind. My biggest fear is its gonna get worse as I get older the thing that bothers me most is my symtoms never goes away it dont go away and come back its always there I have not had a symptom free day in yrs. Ist I was told my prostate was mildly enlarged then I was told it was not really enlarged but soggy or soft not sure what term was used

I work out five days a week most weeks been doing that for almost 4yrs .weights runnig swimming I was over weight when I was was 1st told by my doc that I have this condition you think that may have played a roll in this.

I think this all came from I had surgery for a broken jaw and they put a catheder (might not be spelled right) in me that was the 1st time I ever had a problem pissing

hey man,

So they put a cather into your bladder? Yea that could have caused it, I heard of that before.

You need to go see a pelvic floor therapist. Its possible your pelvic floor is out of wack, and you may have scar tissue from where they placed the catheter. Youve had this problem too long, and I believe it can be cured.

Personally I would stop taking saw palmetto.. I took it for a while, but I believe it can cause problems .. it can lower DHT.. do some weird things down there, personally I dont think its needed for prostatitis, maybe for BPH.

Exercise is good, but you want to be careful your not overdoing it and straining your pelvic floor even more... if your weight lifting, try not to hold your breath and squeeze your butt all the time, might be doing more harm then good.. running as well.. Maybe take up yoga instead.

Hows your diet? You need to cut out all irritating foods.. like caffiene, chocoloate, spicy food (salsa, peppers, pepper, etc.) , alcohol and recreational drugs, ciggarettes etc. none of that stuff. You may also consider reducing dairy intake.

You want to eat a anti-inflammatory diet in general.. drink lots of fresh/clean/filtered water.. get out in the sun, get fresh air regularly. Make sure your sleeping well every night. Try and reduce stress in your life as much as possible, even stress about this problem, do meditation, see a psychologist if you have to.

Cut way back on ejaculating.. once a week at most. Maybe even go on breaks where you dont ejaculate for 2 weeks at a time.

Practice deep abdominal breathing.. feel your breath expand your pelvic floor. Avoid straining on the toilet.. keep relaxed while pooing/peeing.

Hows your digestive system? You need to really figure out the optimal diet for yourself. Losing weight is good too.. sometimes if your overweight, the pressure sits on top of your bladder/prostate and can cause problems.

I was also told my prostate was "Boggy" .. like soft/inflamed.. and im doing much much better now, a year and a half after first encountering these problems.

Ive been seeing a pelvic floor therapist, and apparently my pelvic floor is very tense. This is the core of the problem imo.

Its a combination of pelvic floor tension, inflammation from diet/stress/digestive problems, and possibly some minor hormonal/chemical imbalances.

It can be cured 100%.. but its not so much a cure and then you go back to your old lifestyle. To cure this, you must adopt a completely new lifestyle.. a healthy one, where you take care of your body/mind.

None the less I tihnk the catheter played a role in your problem. Either by causing inflamation or scar tissue.. AND/OR causing you to void incorrectly thus leading to pelvic floor tension/imbalance.

Good luck my friend. I know what your going through Your not alone.

i was told by my URO today it might be stemming from a food allergy like gluten it is a disease. i am off to see that doctor soon and my URO wanted a second opinion. we all are perhaps different. however magnesium has changed my life. day 5 pain free. i will keep updating. yes diet and stress free with a positive attitude. moxsum is bang on. natural sex less but have the sex but dont pressure yourself it will lead to stress. look into tailbone massage. hips and pelvis might be out of line. the muscles are weird.

interesting.. thats good your URO talked about food allergy, seems like he's more aware of other possibilities, although he's the same dude who gave you tons of antibiotics right? not very smart lol..

I believe there is a diet connection as well.. its odd though, it seems like there are multiple factors that make it worse.. its diet, stress, daily habits.. each one can cause prostatitis, and often its all 3 that lead to it...

For me though, when I first started having problems, I noticed when I drank wine/beer, it would cause cloudy urine within a day afterward.. so clearly thats a dietary thing right there.. I used to drink all the itme with no problem, then suddenly it causes irritation in my prostate?? why? Good news is, a year later, ive been drinking a bit lately and it causes no symptoms anymore..

Stress / Food allergies / Digestive problems = inflammation
inflammation = symptoms = stress = symptoms = muscle tension = more digestive problems, etc.. its a cycle.

I went off gluten a few months ago although I occasionally slip up.. I also went off cows dairy products.. although once again, im not overly strict about it.. I also try not to eat lots of simple carbs like white pasta, white rice, french fries..

In general im doing wayyy better.. it started for me a year and a half ago.. I had urgency, frequency, twinges of pain in my pelvis/anus, weak stream, really weak ejaculation, no libido, weak erections..

Today, I have pretty good erections, decent libido, improved stream, no frequency, minor urgency from time to time (mostly psychological), good ejaculation, rarely any pain.. But ive still got a lot of room for improvement.. and I will not stop on my quest until I have 0 symptoms ever.

So things can/will get better guys!!

I still occasionally have little muscular spasms in my pelvic floor, sometimes I notice my pelvic muscles get irritated by too much masturbation and/or stress/tension and this increases my symptoms.

I also have lots of digestive problems which I am working to correct. I also could have some more improvement sexually... but things are still good now.
