Default Should I exercise while sick?

So my body is fighting something, and I haven't been to the gym for about two months because of it. I am thinking it my help to get my body active again. Should I go back to the gym, and work out and run at like %50. I know that it is better than do nothing, but I don't want to tax my body while it is fighting something.

It usually helps me if I'm getting over a cold to exercise a bit, work up a sweat and get the heart and lungs going. Of course don't overdo, and drink plenty of filtered water.

Thank you. That's kind of what I was thinking. I'm going to run to the gym right now.

I would personally say no. If your sick, you need to rest

If you need your immune system to fight something then I'm not sure why you would want to exercise, but I'm guessing how sick you really are, because two months is a very long time to be sick. I would be more concern about being sick for two months than anything else.

Some light excersice should be ok, but please, don't go the gym if you think you may be contagious!

The amount of people that I have seen sneeze into their hand and then touch a piece of equipment... and coughing and spluttering while on the treadmill or in a spin class...

yech!

Don't worry, I wouldn't go if I was sick like that.

Yes, I figured, but it was more of a general whinge...

The gym is a petrie dish to begin with, that anyone that is contagious, wether they know it or not is just adding to it...

There was a girl coming out of a yoga class the other day saying "ugh I'm so sick, I couldn't even do the breathing, I was just inhaling snot the whole time" Charming...

How was your run, anyway?

Yeah, I hear you on that. I played poker a bit in our local card room, and so often there is people there, coughing and sneezing all over the place. I think poker would be bad for passing germs, with the chips and the cards changing hands so often.

My run was good, I think it may have flared my symptoms up a bit that night, but it felt good to run again. Thanks for asking
