Thumbs up Vitamin C Benefits

Quote:
Vitamin C is perhaps best known for its ability to strengthen the immune system. But this potent nutrient also has many other important roles that control significant aspects of our health.

When we get enough in our diets, vitamin C helps detoxify our bodies, promotes healing of all of our cells, and allows us to better deal with stress. It also supports the good bacteria in our gut, destroys detrimental bacteria and viruses, neutralizes harmful free radicals, removes heavy metals, protects us from pollution, and much more.

Unfortunately, most Americans are not getting anywhere near enough of this vitamin to experience these health benefits. That's especially true for our children.

One reason why we fall so short is that our diet simply does not consist of nearly enough raw fruits and vegetables. Another reason is that the RDA of 90 mg for vitamin C is set much too low, which is the same problem we see with vitamin D. Such a low RDA leads people into a false sense of security that they are meeting their daily requirements. It also makes them wary of taking the much higher dosages that are required for good health.

Dr. Levy thinks 6 to 12 grams per day is about optimum - when you're healthy.
When you are sick - you need more, likely by IV (sodium ascorbate) or as lypo-spheric.

6 to 12 grams a day I think is a bit out there. I couldnt possibly eat all the food I would need to to obtain that naturally. But since we live in an unnatural world high dosages do have a protective role against chemicals and pathogens that we may be exposed to.

Orally taken Lipsomal vitamin c can provide the same levels of vitamin c that one would obtain from an intraveinous application, but you can do it at home. Livon Labs was the first to come out with it. www.livonlabs.com

But now you can make your own at home. All you need is a sonic jewelry cleaner, lecithin and ascorbic acid. You can afford to take IV levels daily if you feel that you should need to, without paying a doctor for services.

For further info on vitamin c go to www.thevitamincfoundation.org They have everything there is to know about vitamin c on their site. If you are going to continue to take oral vitamin c in pill form you need to learn about how to take vitamin c to bowel tolerance. Put bowel tolerance in their search tool and you will see.

Default yes

If it was just a matter of what we naturally eat, yes, 6-9 is way much.
But instead it's a matter of the faulty biology of man, apes & guinie pigs; we lack one enzyme that would let our body *make* vitamin C. Supposedly a goat makes 13 grams a day when it's healthy and much more when it's sick.

The RDA for vitamin C is a joke, Linus Pauling pointed that out several years ago.

In the late 1800's the soil contained all the necessary minerals, so whatever was grown in that soil was "alive". You would probably have to eat a dozen oranges now-a-days to get the same amount of vitamin C from one orange during this era. There were no GMO crops, no chemical fertilizers, no chemtrails, no x-rays, no agent orange, no deet, no pesticides, no herbicides, and no Fukushima's.

Is one gram of C per day enough to take care of all that plus prevent disease, build tissue, protect heart and arteries, as well as several other functions? No, not even close.

C is water soluble, which means it is not stored in the body. That means in order to get the maximum benefit, one would have to take 4 or 5 doses of C per day, about 4 or 5 hours apart.

Linus Pauling took 12 to 18 grams per day of ascorbic acid, which is synthetic C in its rawest form. Taking that much at a time would cause severe stomach eruptions, gas, bloating, etc.. but the point is we can take buffered C to prevent these symptoms, and we can also take one or two grams several times per day.

Personally I take about 20 grams of C per day, which may seem like alot, however that is down from 25 grams per day a year ago. If I was to get sick, which I haven't been now for many years, I would easily double that dose.

Go ahead and eat your oranges and your plums, but also take extra C, and when you're done with that plum, break open the pit and eat that small kernel inside. It is there to protect you.

Since we don't store vitamin C in our body, I think it's probably beneficial to consume it- either through OJ or eating blueberries.

Anyhow, there have been numerous studies regarding intravenous, high potency vitamin C in the treatment of certain types of cancer, and it has been very effective.

I think it's alright, but it contains two undesireable ingredients (excipients/fillers)...here's a listing

Quote:

Most Commonly Used Excipients

Magnesium Stearate
Stearic Acid
Sodium Benzoate
Potassium Sorbate
Flavors or Natural Flavors
Silicon Dioxide
Titanium Dioxide
Colors
Lactose
Cellulose
Gelatin Sodium Glycolate
Talc
Sucrose
Calcium Stearate
Palmitate
Hydroxy Propyl Methylcellulose
Ethylcellulose
Glaze
Shellac
Starch
I'm currently using Nature's Way Vitamin C-1000 with Bioflavonoids (50mg)
https://www.natmedtalk.com/wiki/Bioflavonoids. It still has mag stearate in the ingredients, hard to find without just using powdered forms which are not encapsulated. Vegetarian V-caps, no preservatives, yeast, milk, lactose, wheat, sugar or soy.

Its best to buy vitamin C in powder form. That way it does not contain any magnesium stearate, which is a lubricant used to prevent the machines from jamming.

Magnesium stearate is not magnesium. If it was I would have no negative comments about it, however, it is a product that will coat the intestines over time, thus preventing absorbtion of nutrients.

Powdered ascorbic acid is also cheaper and can be added to water, smoothies, or "greens" drinks..

Along with my daily dose of Blackmores, vitamin C, I try and grab a few Lilly pilly's of our tree, every now and again.

LILLY PILLY (Acmena smithii)
High in Vitamin C, this antioxidant ‘mops-up’ free radicals, helping to prevent damage to the skin’s cell structure
Assists in regeneration and protection of skin cells
Vitamin C and Fruit Acids helps promote Collagen and Elastin production for increased suppleness
The Lilly Pilly has astringent properties which cleanse and freshen the skin to improve firmness and amplify youthful resilience

https://www.tradewindsfruit.com/lilly_pilly_pictures.htm

They are only about the size of a marble and a little bit tart but not bad, and you can make jam out of them.

The vitamins in powder form, and some in liquid form are free from magnesium stearate, because the process to put them into capsule form is no longer needed. You can buy empty capsules and fill your own if you desire, or just use spoon measurements.
