What no one wants to hear.....

I was looking at the list of recommendations. There are several isolated treaments for bone and muscle health. My recommendation is what no one really wants to hear. That is, because our bones are constantly changing we can help them by changing our DIETS. So, before we start adding this supplement or that compound we should try eating things like cultured yogurt, dark, green, leafy vegetables (you know, the stuff you don't like). Natural omega three's can be found in canned sardines, pink salmon with the bones and home made stock.
Many, because they are vegan, will not want to use the stock but it is loaded with precious minerals that lend themselves to our own health. All you have to do is take an organic chicken or other organic meat, throw it in a big pot of water, add your favorite vegetables and cook it for around 8 hours or until the bones break easily. All that good stuff will supply you with so many of the minerals necessary for healthy bone and muscle. If you don't want the meat, that's o.k. just use the stock.
Adequate intake of minerals, exercise, structural alignment and a good ph balance will go a long way to keeping us healthy.
The herbal supplements are o.k. but God (for those of us who believe in God) made food will all the right stuff in it. So, when you eat your celery, eat the leaf as well. God knows what He's doing.

Great recommendations Naturalman!

And I love it soooooo much when people push eating a good variety of nutritious foods over poppin' pills.

Stock is very healthy, as you say. So many people don't want to take the time to do that. I enjoy making stew in a slow cooker. The mingling of the food for hours really enhances the flavors. I admit that I buy the organic chicken stock off the shelf.

Remember that herbs are food. I do understand what you mean by supplements though. For example, ascorbic acid is synthetic. Watercress, kiwis, papaya, berries, amla, acerola, and rosehips are so much better.

For bones, calcium is required. Vitamin D is required to move the calcium into the bones. Remember to take magnesium separate from calcium; because it is a natural calcium channel blocker. Both magnesium and calcium are essential.

As an ex-pro athlete I will say that diet is huge. You know the old saying "You are what you eat" is very true. I just came off a road trip to KS where I had a hard time finding quality food and good choices while traveling. My first couple workouts when I got home were not up to par even though I had a couple days of rest. The fuel I put in was low octane and my body is burning calories and working hard so I need the high octane stuff to preform well.
I think you are spot on with your post

eat organic and wild

I sincerely appreciate all this information and happy to see increasing numbers of people who are aware of the healthy life style.
I eat strictly organic and wild, also taking natural supplements; such as D, Calcium, Magnesium and COQ10. They help me to keep my energy levels up.
Also, I stay away from inflammatory food, which may vary for every body.
This is helpful to have healthy joints and be active. As an ex-dancer I have sore joints but still dancing :)
