chronic voice loss- any ideas?

Hello, I'm new here. I am meeting with a young lady tomorrow who, as I understand it, has been occasionally loosing her voice for around three years now. Since I don't know all of the circumstances I will be checking out head or neck injuries at the time it all began. Perhaps acid reflux problems of which she may not even be aware. I was told that when she was a child she suffered from ear infections, had tubes in her ears, and was on antibiotics for over a year. Does anyone know if a dairy allergy can cause occasional loss of voice? Any other ideas?

One of my daughters, now age 50, had constant ear infections and was near
losing her hearing. Repeated antibiotics too; Dr put ear tubes in both ears
which helped. Then they took out her tonsils and adenoids at age 3 1/2. No
more problems after that. She has never had any allergies to anything.
Good luck, I hope you can help her.
