Kevin, can you subscribe to the whole forum?

I was just wondering if there was a way to subscribe to the entire forum, so that whenever a person posted anywhere, you would get an email?

I just setup a RSS feed at FeedBurner, it connects to most online RSS readers, also offers Email subscription.

What is the purpose of subscribed threads? Are they only for personal email notification?

A subscribed thread lets you know when a post has been made on any thread you are wanting to follow.

I don't subscribe to any threads so I don't even know where the subscribe button is. Maybe Kevin will tell us when he comes around

The thread subscription is mainly for notification purpose. By default, if you participate in a thread, you subscribe to it automatically and get instant email notification for any new replies. You can change this behavior in in your user CP. Other available options are 'Do not subscribe', 'No email', 'daily email notification' and 'Weekly email notification'.

Yes, you can unsubscribe all subscribed threads, it makes no difference for you. Since you don't want emails, it's better to change the above option to 'Do not subscribe'.
