bipolarmom is on a distinguished road
Default Does anyone here have further information on preventing group b strep in pregnancy?

I know taking garlic supplements during the third trimester, using probiotics the whole pregnancy, and some sort of suppository(garlic or probiotics) in the 2 weeks before the GBS test are the common natural recommendations. Anything else?

I'm planning a home birth and although my midwife can administer antibiotics at home if needed, I would really prefer to avoid them altogether and I don't feel comfortable declining the GBS test as I have a friend who lost her baby to a missed GBS infection.

Oh and I was GBS+ with my son which is why I'm really concerned about preventing it this time.
