\nIf his diabetes is at the stage where his toes had to be amputated, and now his feet look bad and smell bad, this is very serious.

\nWhen diabetes is not properly controlled, the abnormally high blood sugar causes nerve damage, blood vessel damage, and prevent the feet from sweating. This is what causes ulcers, infections, and amputations.

\nI know what you mean about talking to a brick wall, but he has to control his blood sugar because this is what is causing the damage. I would assume he is taking metformin and/or insulin, but he needs to control his diet, which means cutting out all simple carbs, and he has to take some supplements such as vitamin D3 (5000 I.U. per day-double that if he is overweight) vitamin C (5000 mg in divided doses throughout the day- this will help rebuild artery and blood vessel lining) fish oil or flax seed oil @ 2000 mg per day, and there are some really good supplements that help balance blood sugar, such as cinnamon, bitter melon, olive leaf extract, and colloidal silver.

\nHe has a choice... he can be a stubborn victim or perhaps you can convince him in a nice way that you want him around for another 10 or 20 years, thus the need for diet changes and supplements. (and possibly exercise later on once he gets used to the changes)

\r\nOR you could make your own mix with either epsom salts or magnesium chloride crystals and TEA TREE essential oils dissolved in water and soak for 20mins.
\r\nThis would combine added magnesium (which all diabetics require) while also treating the bacteria/fungus that is causing the smell.\r\n

I\'ll talk to my stepmom about the foot soaks, vitamins and fish oil. He is a hard one to crack. So stubborn! That is also one of his traits that I carry...lol

\nI also have my own problems with diabetes. I know a little bit about health, juicing and supplements and stuff but can\'t get motivated. Is Hallelujah Acres BarleyMax a good green drink or is their a better brand? My feet hurt alot and I\'ve done some nerve damage to my left thigh and I\'m now noticing pain in my right thigh:-(

\nI bought a Greenstar a few months back and have a Vitamix blender that I purchased about a year ago but they just sit there. What a shame that I don\'t do better.
