jfh, can you tell me more about the one you have? It's a real good price, I blend lots of hard veges (cucumbers, carrots, etc) and after reading some of the negative reviews about the expensive blenders, just want to make a good choice. My Kitchenaid has plenty of power but the jar leaks, like most of the blenders I have had...bummer.

We debated which blender to get and decided to get a reconditioned Vitamix. We LOVE it. We're never again buying a cheap blender
Our old blender was a regular old blender that you can get at any big-box store, and it could blend up smoothies, but if we added any Spinach in, the smoothie came out with tiny bits of spinach. With the vitamix, it comes out nice and smooth.
Like i said, if you plan on using it daily it is worth the cost. The Cheap-O blender will not suffice...i've used both. It's like comparing a truck to a tank
I have a Magic Bullet and it doesn't blend greens well. It's great for milk and bananas but not much else.
Handy due to it's size for use and cleanup.
I dont drink milk so cant comment on that. For greens I would use a masticating juicer such as an Omega which I already have. The process is unfortunately time consuming for me, and cleaning is a pain too. Thats why I've ordered the Nutri Bullet.
If and when I do have more time to play with my food, I'd actually masticate green juice, then use it as a base for fruit and nuts in the nutri bullet. Then finally leave it to sit for a few hours with some probiotic powder. That for me should be the ultimate health drink - in a pre digested state.

That sounds like a great plan. What would you use for "green"? In the short term, probiotics like sugar or something they can convert to glucose. For example, kefir is made with milk for its lactose. By the time the probiotics are done, there is no lactose left. In a longer period, probiotics work well to make sauerkraut or fermented vegetables. No matter what you use, the addition of probiotics is a plus.

Anything green and edible would suffice I suppose. Celery gives great juice, so does cucumber. Spinach is nice, Parsley is a bit on the strong side. Though I suppose the pH would be altered somewhat. Not sure how the probiotics would take to it. I'll be playing about with chia seed also. My idea is to let them gelatinise in coconut water. Coconuts are abundant here in the tropics. So all in all, I'm pretty excited about using this Nutri Bullet thing to take my diet up a notch.
Trying to get a family member to try one of those bullets instead of investing hundreds in a vitamix. Lemme know how you like it majbsb.
Still waiting for the shipment. Looking forward to it simple for ease of use. Throw your food in, blend, drink, and wash the plastic cup and be done with.
I went with a Waring Xtreme, it's a monster, has variable speed control, have not taken it past 7 and it blends real well...it's another option besides Vitamix and Blendtec.
I bought an 1800 watt (compared to vitamix 1300 watt) commercial grade vitamix clone type thing from China for $80. So far so good, results are perfect. Pure emulsification every time. $80! I should start selling them the price is so cheap.
