Default Green tea and hibiscus-based drinks pack antioxidant punch

I drink green tea everyday and cold hibisus tea mixed with rooibos everynight. I might start mixing my teas now at least on the weekends

Tannins are antioxidant. However, they bind with various compounds including alkaloids, glycosides, yeasts, and many minerals preventing their absorption. Bye the way, tannins also interfere with protein digestion, so it is not wise to have tea with your meals, including iced tea.

This is only a problem with high tannin source. Many herbs have tannins, but not high enough to matter. High tannin sources are such as uva ursi, white oak bark, coffee, tea (Camellia).

If you still want to use tea, milk neutralizes the tannins.
