Default BBC America

I'm really enjoying this channel recently. A whole lot. Those clever, talented, creative Brits.

They've got me all excited about this mini-series (5 days) of Torchwood: Children of Earth. Tonight is the last. We will see if the UK and the rest of the world give up 10% of all of the Earth's children to this seemingly unbeatable alien.

I never watched Torchwood, until a couple months ago; so reruns will be a pleasure.

BBC America will also have a Dr. Who special on Saturday. I typically don't miss Dr. Who.

Another new one, for me, is Primeval. The finale is soon. Some nasty woman is going into the past to kill the first human or neanderthal in order to destroy any possibility of a future human race. Interesting concept of time travel.

Now, if only BBC Amer. would have reruns of my favorite British comedies. Our PBS station does; but it is not consistent. I really like "As Time Goes By" with Dame Judi Dench. I also like "Keeping Up Appearances" with the Hiacynth character. And I love the landscapes shown in the comedy, "Last of the Summer Wines". It does not matter if I've seen reruns of reruns. I miss "My Family" too.

I can watch BBC World ( Is it the channel's name?), but it's very boring - only news and political talk shows.

Do you guys pay for the BBC there? By law we need a TV license here which goes towards paying for BBC content. Top Gear is currently the best show on the BBC as far as I'm concerned.

BBC is in our regular cable TV lineup; and I don't know how the cable company pays for it. It does seem like there is a whole lot of Top Gear and reruns. My most unfavored are the Gordon Ramsey shows. There seems to be a lot of that.

BBC America must be different from BBC World. It does have world news; but has a lot of nightly entertainment programs.
