only over 200 ng/ml is there a risk for toxicity. You have to take a boat load to get to that level.

I read something about the root cause of cancer being a breakdown in communications... so common anymore.... the cells become like stem cells, lost souls so to speak and can become anything. How does this happen? LOW VIT D!

How Vitamin D Reduces Incidence of Cancer: DINOMIT Model
You can take a more detailed look at the evidence Dr Garland presents by downloading the slides if you want.
Dr. Garland's DINOMIT Model: Vitamin D for Cancer Prevention (PDF)

Please try to share this information with as many people as possible.

Also consider Joining the GRASSROOTSHEALTH D ACTION campaign. It will help you monitor your vitamin d status so it is always kept within the range that is optimum for least cancer incidence, and please don't just keep this a secret, if we are going to reduce cancer incidence we must try to explain to others this simple but effective way they too can reduce their risk of cancer.

Cancer is definitely a hot topic these days. It's scary to think of it. I have abut 20 friends/relatives who died of cancer. All these people went through chemotherapy or radiation. However, only one, my best friend, survived and actually her case was the worse of all....aggressive lymphatic cancer. She went through chemotherapy and alternative therapy at the same time. She used Dr Max Gerson cancer cure way. That is, detoxification using coffee enema and hourly juice. Today, 6+ years later, she is healthy and cured of cancer. She still plants her own vegetables, drink juice everyday and eats a no meat diet. I guess we all need to take care of our health before any serious sickness strikes.

Gerson and Hoxey are 2 alternative approaches that work quite well. Too bad the FDA is against them.

Vitamin D and Cancer Prevention. Garland
Dose-Response of Vitamin D and a Mechanism for Cancer Prevention

Can vitamin D help prevent certain cancers and other diseases such as type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain autoimmune and chronic diseases?

Vit D can protect against certain cancers. As for autoimmune, watch your animal protein intake, go low on dairy. For cardiovascular, make sure you eat fatty fish or take fish oils

Crohn’s disease: The hot hypothesis and probably it protects from autoimmune conditions as well.

I'm not sure where your evidence for these claims comes from. I would suggest that eliminating wheat and gluten and reducing to about 2% of calorie intake omega 6 vegetable/seed oils would be a better bet.

If you want to understand how autoimmune conditions develop then this presentation explains the gist of the matter Allow plenty of time.

Indeed but also make sure your vitamin d, 25(OH)D level is above 50ng/ml 125nmol/l year round. That probably will require around 5000~6000iu/daily D3, perhaps less in summer and more in winter to keep a steady level 50~60ng/mL throughout the year.

No. There is no single substance that can prevent cancer. However, some might reduce the risk of cancer development.

However the fact remains that those diagnosed with/treated for cancer at the end of summer have generally a better prognosis than those diagnosed/treated for the same cancer at the end of winter when Vitamin D status is low.

Only those who enjoy the thrill of dangerous living fail to appreciate that the higher your vitamin D status the lower your risk of getting heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, MS etc etc.

No one is suggesting that Vitamin D status is the only determinant of cancer risk. However as vitamin D status impacts of every single stage in cancer development and progression it is perverse and unreasonable not to correct Vitamin D status as soon as if not before a cancer is diagnosed.

I predict in 10yrs time any doctor not correcting 25(OH)D deficiency status will be vulnerable to legal action for negligence. The evidence is increasing daily and the slow learners will be the most vulnerable to legal action.
