\r\n \r\n There is a really bad coughing bug going around here at the moment too we had ours for about six weeks, its best if they do cough though to get rid of the congestion plenty of vit c, and maybe try the old vicks vapour rub on the soles of their feet when they go to bed at night it might help, put socks on as well.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I think you need to see a doctor immediately. typically coughs usually last upto 2-3 days. since you say that it is a month already, you should go see a doctor to rule out the possible/suspected sickness, and of course you might administer the wrong therapy for it if you do not see a doctor asap. keep them hydrated and let them continuously take vitamin C.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I would suggest increasing their vitamin C intake. Vitamin C increases the number of white blood cells in the body; it\'ll increase immune function. I had a lingering cough and phlegm that wouldn\'t budge until I took vit. C by the hour for a few days. It worked.\r\n

My 5-yr-old has had a cough that just doesn't want to go away for about a month now. She doesn't cough constantly, but when she does, it is one of those gross-sounding ones. Now my 11-yr-old seems to have it too. I have already tried to cut back on their dairy, but what else can help? I really don't want to put them on antibiotics! But enough is enough!
