\na significant level by the 60 Hz electric field. Connecting
\nyourself to ground by wire channels this energy-' + '-through
\nyou-' + '-to ground. Whether this is good or bad is anybodies
\nguess at this point. In my view a benefit is unlikely. The
\nmagnitude of the field declines rapidly as soon as you are
\n10 or more feet away from a building.

I agree. Then there is that whole messy chemical soup mix in the sky - covering sunshine at rise/fall to be CERTAIN there is NO natural D3 to be made. Yes. If there is any benefit it will be very minimal (socks made from synthetic materials will likely stop the energy transfer 100%, but it\'s possible that you could experience a small benefit if the socks are made from natural fibers). But it is far better to go barefoot.

Good tips. Unfortunately, until my husband decides it is the right time to move, we live in a house where a distributor line is underneath our front sidewalk creating a higher than normal EMF. I\'ve done your tips and even disconnected all power in the bedroom so at night it can be as healing as possible, not as therapeutic as sleeping outside, but it\'ll do for now.

\nBlack tourmaline is very inexpensive and known to remedy EMF\'s. I just purchased some from a gem store yesterday that are tumbled for indoor use and I\'ll be placing another order for unpolished tourmaline to put outside.

Touching something that is grounded will still allow the body to bleed off excess electric charge from harmful EMR and likely give the benefit of absorbing negative ions from the Earth, but the effect is still less then if your bare skin were in contact with the Earth.\r\n

When a thunder storm approaches, even hours before one approaches, most folks will say they can sense more pain in their limbs. So what is causing this increase in pain? The generally accepted answer is that there is a drop in barometric (atmospheric) pressure. That may well be the cause of the increase in joint pain but I believe this is what is happening: Storm clouds have a tremendous positive charge of electricity which is evident by the subsequent lightening bolts. The electric field of such positively charged clouds can extend for hundreds of miles ahead of a storm. The effect of a positively charged atmosphere on our immediate environment is to draw electrons out of the ground causing our bodies to become more negative. That is we loose some positive charge our body normally holds and we feel pain. And the cause of the joint pain may not necessarily be due to a lower atmospheric pressure. Our bodies have an electric potential difference between our head and our toes (the head being positive) which is greatest when we are young and lessens as we age. Thus, old timers can feel the adverse effects of a thunder storm much more then youngsters. And this is probably why young folks like walking bare foot in the grass - the possible lose of a small amount of electrons from their body is little noticed, a large potential difference may still remain in their body.\r\n

The trick in such a case is to gather mainly highly invasive edibles such as Japanese knotweed and garlic mustard. Then if someone challenges you, you point out that you are helping to protect and preserve the ecosystem.

What I should have said instead was: When an elderly person lies on the grass this could make their arthritis feel worse by draining off the positive charge thus reducing the electric potential from head to toe. However, when an elderly person walks barefooted this could possibly make their arthritis feel better by making the toes more negative which could increase the electric potential from head to toe.
