Default Ultimate Guide to Using Images on Forums

There are two different ways to use images in your post:

1. The image is on another website, you link to it.
By this way, you need to find out the image address (aka URL), it looks like: http://www.artvisions.org/slides/landscape-hasler.jpg

Click above the input box, then paste the image address.

Advantage: Easy to add; Images are embedded instead of thumbnails.

Disadvantage: Since they are on other sites, they may not allow external links, or the images could be removed after a while, and the image will disappear from your post.

The image will look like:

2. The image is on your computer, you upload it to this forum. Just click the button 'Manage Attachments" below

Advantage: Since they are hosted on our forums, it's safe and always there.

Disadvantage: Images are displayed as thumbnails (see below)

So, you may wonder if there is a third way to have both advantages. Yes, upload it to your albums (Go to Community->Pictures & Albums ), then link to it.

Still have questions? Feel free to ask.

Yes, Kevin, where do I find "Quick Links -> photos albums"?

I still haven't figured out how to load an image except in thumbnail.

Sorry, Arrow. The new version moved it to Community->Pictures & Albums, it's at the top of the forum, on every page.

You will have to create a new album first.

How do I create an album? I got to this page and didn't know what to do. Sorry, I'm just not very intuitive on this kind of stuff
http://www.natmedtalk.com/album.php?do=addalbum

what goes into the description box and where do I get it from. Usually when I upload photos at other places a drop down box appears that says Choose, which leads me to a place on my computer to choose a file. I don't see any thing here.

Now I go to write a post in chitchat.

What NOW!

Oh Man. This stuff is such a chore for me..

Hey! I got it! Go look at my post in chit chat. I hope I can remember how to do it again!

Glad you made it, Arrow. From the album page, you will understand the title and description better, compare yours with another album, its title is "My Adventures," description is "Just a few of the places I've been."

I'm sure you can upload new pictures easily in the future, just go to your album page, click Upload pictures. It's as easy as creating a post.

Ok, still having problems. I made a new album and I can see it just fine. Now I want to put the photos in a chit chat thread. I open a "go advanced page" in the thread.

What do I do now?

Arrow: click into the album, then click the image you want to use, you will see BB Code below the image:

Just copy it into your post. Repeat the process if you want to have multiple images in your post.

Thank you. I kept thinking there was something I was suppose to use in the toolbar on the message reply box!
