https://wellprovitamins.com/uploads/V...dolescents.pdfThere is a lot of stuff like that around. It just about once or twice a week a new paper is published showing Vitamin D deficiency in rife in adolescents throughout the globe.

It would be more interesting if someone was bright enough to suggest that teenagers took an EFFECTIVE amount of vitamin D to prevent them being vitamin D deficient.

I like the look of the tests they offer but the micronutrient vitamin test profile is 251 in UK money, so although it sounds great and it would be very helpful knowing which vits/mins you needed to correct, it's a lot of money to invest.

I don't think it's necessary for everyone as I think with most vitamins/minerals you can work out pretty well from food databases where you may be short.

I think a 25(OH)D check a couple of times a year is worth it to make sure you get your levels above 60ng/ml but once you've understood how much D3 your body requires to stay at a safe level I don't think you need to do this every year. My levels seem to stay about the same now I've got my intakes sorted. But it's quite interesting to me so I continue.

I'm thinking about the omega 3 <> omega 6 ratio test. We can get these in the UK now for 50 but as I've been consuming omega 3 and avoiding omega 6 for some time I feel it would be money down the drain, but if I had 50 to spare it would be interesting to find out for certain. I'd also like proper breakdown of cholesterol into measured rather than calculated ldl's but that's not readily available in the UK.

In the US on my insurance plan, which I no longer have, D3 alone cost $291

Just another rip off on the insurace level. Labs get overpaid for a pretty simple test and insurance does not negotiate, they get rich and we get poor.

I thought this companies approach to determining levels was interesting. I am never really sure what tests are really accurate. The BS flies and who to believe? Apparently those who dark field microscope can determine vitamin and mineral deficiency. But most common and still effective is understanding the sign and symptoms of deficiency.
