Default resveratrol and IP6 to treat cancer

I have Sardi's book and he speaks about these two things as treatments for cancer that have great promise. After Barbara Walter's show last week about living to be 150, in which resveratrol was mentioned, I started to do some research on the net.

I'm wondering how one knows that they are buying "the real thing" and not something that's promoted for the promoter's financial gain? Sardi admitted in his book that he's got a financial interest in IP6, I believe. I liked that, but then what, LOL!!

Any ideas?

I buy my resveratrol from Beyond-a-Century and totally trust the people. It's a small family run business. Been dealing with them for over 20 years. Their self-branded bulk powders are usually the best deal available.

I trust Bill Sardi as well, but I can't afford his product.

One guy at ImmInst uses my method of of premixing with vodka and then mixing with cocoa & lecithin. Tastes good to me. Have had no side effects.

FWIW, I use the Jarrow brand IP6 as a preventive (for cancer, heart disease, as a heavy-metal detox, etc.). It's pretty affordable when purchased online - especially at the moderate dosages that Mr. Sardi recommends.

Resveratrol-wise, I get 100 mg in the multi I'm taking. It's a multi put out by Vitacost. Ralph Moss, a cancer expert, recently wrote a column about resveratrol (and some of the better brands to look for). I'll search for it and add it as an edit to this post.

edit: Here's Dr. Moss' article.

I have been in contact with Ralph Moss, ordered one of his publications from him and get his weekly updates.

Sardi is cool too.

Thanks for the information,

K

There has been a lot of research in the effects of IP6, outside of Sardi. Doctors often pick up on the research they find promising and start applying it to patients to see what really happens in the real world as there is no one to pay for complex clinical studies on people regarding nutritional supplements. I'm sure we get mislead by wishful thinkers at times. IP6 is notable for prevention of bowel and liver cancer. I have a nice little book on some of the studies that have been done. It is most noted for cancer prevention as it boosts natural killer cells. The book is called IP6 Nature's Revolutionary cancer-fighter by AbulKalam M. Shamsuddin MD PHD His research was sponsored by the American Institute for Cancer Research

PubMed's got more recent information. I've seen abstracts re: IP6 and cancer dating as recently as April '08.
