\r\n \r\n Next week I\'ll be going to a conference for alternative cancer treatments. Many clinics from Mexico will be represented including Gerson. I\'ll come back and post what they say. It is a sad state of affairs when there are so many ways to tackle cancer throughout the world that our brothers and sisters are using but we in America will have only one recognized system: radiation, chemo, and surgery and to think there is another way is thought of as heresay. Big sigh....\r\n

\nAny clear indications that certain drugs and supplements don\'t mix? There are only a very few that I know of.

\nI have a new friend who\'s daughter has breast cancer, She in on year three with only alternatve methods and is doing well. Cancer is not gone but is not getting worse.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I Have made up my mind that if I should get BC which I am determined I\'m not going to get despite my mum having had it.
\r\nThe only thing now is that I think I will cancel the yearly mamograms that I have been having as well, as I have read where they can actually give you cancer, and are not 100% in picking up cancer anyway, and they hurt.
\r\nHere in Aus if there is a family history of BC, you can have free mamograms from the age of 50.\r\n

\nIf you ever find a lump that you are worried about go straight for the sonogram and continue to forget the mammogram. Often just from the sonogram they can tell if further investigation is necessary.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I am new on here .. My sister had a stage 1 breast tumor removed within the past few weeks. She then went to a doctor as she sometimes had some pain in sitting and was told she has "hard ovaries" so she has to have those checked out. According to what I heard from my mother (second hand) there was something that if she has ovarian cancer, she would have to have both breasts removed. This doesn\'t quite sound right to me, but I get alot of stuff from Mike Adams the health ranger, Dr Leanard Coldwell and so on and have gotten kind of skeptical of the medical establishment ..\r\n

\nI do know that with some cancers they have a tendency to spread in very specific directions, for instance, lung cancer has a high statistic to spreading to the brain...

\nI suggest that she get on iodine supplementation right away, as iodine mitigates the negative effects of estrogens, that are often behind breast cancer, and since ovaries are hornomally affected, I will assume the effects of estrogens on ovaries also.

\nanyway, iodine supplementation is known to help with ovarian cysts. The links jfh gave a couple of posts up are exceptional. They give everything she needs to know.

I would be willing to bet that most breast cancer can be traced back to a vitamin / mineral deficiency. I would further bet Vitamin D and Iodine would be the top two deficiencies to cause most cancers because if D3 and Iodine protect from breast cancer, they also protect from prostate cancer, lung cancer, blood cancers, and so on.

\r\n \r\n I surmise that we are deficient due to paranoia in the medical community. Bakers used to put iodine in bread. Then they instead put bromide in bread and flour. So far, there are only 2 brands of bread in the USA that specifically label the bread with "no bromates", but still do not add iodine.

\nIn Japan, all people consume iodine in large quantities. 12mg daily is what has been determined. That means children, adults, pregnant women, infirm, etc.

\nIodine is a good chelater of fluoride. When we stopped consuming iodine, were were inundated with with its sister halogens - chlorine, bromine, fluorine.\r\n

Breast cancer (BC) patients and survivors throughout the world are embracing complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) as an adjunct to conventional treatment. Recent surveys conducted in Malay, Taiwan and the United States indicate that more than half of women with BC use one form or another of CAM.

Nutritional supplements such as echinacea, garlic, ginkgo and multivitamins topped the list in the US. In Malay, evening primrose oil, spirulina and Vitamin C were most popular. Taiwanese breast cancer patients primarily used acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. In many instances, the impact of CAM modalities in combination with conventional cancer care isn�t well known.

What�s more, it�s not uncommon for doctors to be unaware that complementary therapies are being used at all. This leaves the door open for unexpected and potentially unwelcome interactions. The key to preventing this is a more open exchange between patient and physician.
