\nI can\'t see any reason whatsoever to douch with vinegar or anything else after oral sex. Douching should be done very rarely, if at all. It upsets the delicate balance of the vaginal flora (beneficial organisms), which help regulate the pH balance. Here\'s a site with just a bit of info. Personally, if it were me, if would not do it, it\'s a bad idea and completely unnecessary.

I\'m glad he\'s open-minded, and not pressuring you to do it. There\'s germs everywhere, but douching will probably cause more likelihood of infection, because the vagina\'s protective natural lining will be destroyed/removed.\r\n

\r\n \r\n To all you ladies, yes, I am indeed a VERY lucky woman! I\'m 63 and have had miserable relationships with every man I\'ve been involved with, even gave up totally for 16 years. My BF is turning 75 next week and is THE most giving, kind, loving, thoughtful man I\'ve ever known. He lives 90 miles away, yet is happy to drive it to see me. I could go on and on. For a man that worried about cleansing after oral sex, I would want to know why, what could I catch from him???? Do you have regular sex? does he have concerns with that or use condoms? \r\n \r\n Anything\'s possible of course, but I firmly believe that\'s not the case. We "sort of" have regular sex (more for our emotional satisfaction of him managing to be inside me and his physical pleasure), but mostly he uses his fingers and mouth on me and he\'s the most fantastic lover I\'ve ever known, happily spending literally hours giving me orgasm after orgasm with little concern for his own pleasure. He had prostate cancer, but has an artificial pump built into his "plumbing." This enables him to have some erection, but he\'s lost most of that as well as most of the size of his "pride and joy." Fortunately he can still orgasm. We do not use condoms. We discussed all this at the beginning and, unless I\'m the worst judge of men in the world (again possible, based on my past track record with men!), he\'s honestly concerned for my safety based exactly on what he says. I have a number of health problems and he doesn\'t want to add to my struggles. We\'ve been together for months now and certainly nothing even remotely has shown up, nor have I ever caught him in even the tiniest of lies. Of course HIV takes many years, but at our ages, we may both be dead of something else by the time that would manifest itself.\r\n

Sorry to hear that JanH.

But...on the more positive side, it\'s good that he dumped you now instead of later, and you didn\'t waste too much of your time with him. If he\'s a player, hope he didn\'t leave you any "gifts", I get checked out just to be on the safe side. I\'d rather be alone than with someone like that. Being your friends, they probably gave him the benefit of the doubt and since you seemed so happy, they didn\'t want to hurt your feelings or \'rain on your parade\'. \r\n \r\n I had my regular Pap test a couple of weeks ago, got the results online this morning. The Pap test was normal but I\'m HPV positive!!! Now what? I\'ve read a bit online, some say my body may clear the infection on its own. Other than the almost six months with the man worried about douching after oral sex, I had oral and regular sex with a man the day previous to the test who again totally lied his way into my bed! He supposedly had had sex with only four women in his entire life and was just coming off a totally monogamous marriage of many years. Considering everything else I found out he lied to be about, there were probably many more. I don\'t know which gave me this. I\'ve been pursuing a few other possible relationships, but apparently it would appear those won\'t be able to happen now. Anyone have any suggestions (other than swearing off men for the rest of my life) about how to proceed?\r\n

\r\n \r\n If you mess around you will always be suceptible to sexually transmitted diseases and there are a bunch of them... probably more than we know. Perhaps working on building your immunity would be the answer. Most sexually active people get HPV at one time or another. For most people it just passes off. Others have lots of difficulty. Most don\'t even know that they had it.

\nI couldn\'t figure out if you were for or against douching but douching with Lugols iodine will probably get rid of it. Also ozone therapy can get rid of it but you would have to purchase an ozonator for that.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I\'m generally against douching, but keep an open mind if it will help in this situation. I\'m not familiar with Lugols, but went online to see how to buy it. There are apparently both a 2% and a 5% concentration, but I haven\'t a clue which to buy or exactly how to proceed from there. I don\'t "mess around," have actually had very few sexual partners in my life. I was involved with this man who supposedly was as devoted in the relationship as I was, but it was all lies. I\'ve been doing research this morning and apparently even condoms aren\'t a for sure safety against HPV.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Men are just as likely to be carriers of candida and infect women. Candida in men can spread to the prostate and cause infection through oral sex. Most of the men on the never ending Prostatitis thread probably have candida in their prostates.

I\'ve heard the horror stories of people turning blue with it, but that\'s probably overdosing or an inferior product. At this stage I\'m open to any and all help I can get.\r\n

Seagate olive leaf extract is, in my opinion, the best on the market. Most companies will offer "high dose oleuropein" but Seagate uses the whole olive leaf, and this is necessary because all the phytochemicals in the olive leaf work in a synergistic manner. They also have their own olive trees and process the leaves themselves while most other companies get their product from somewhere else... such as China.

\nColloidal silver is safe in reasonable amounts. I\'ve been using it for several years now, and the only side effect I\'ve noticed is better health. Come to think of it, haven\'t had a cold or flu in several years.

Kaiser refuses to re-test me before one year, saying I can\'t possibly be rid of the HPV this soon. Obviously, I\'ll have to go outside the Kaiser system to get re-tested, but not sure when I should do that. Any suggestions?\r\n

\r\n \r\n Well, bad news, folks! I went outside the Kaiser system to get re-tested. The ob-gyn office called this afternoon and I\'m still positive, despite about six weeks with the products I\'ve mentioned previously using. Kaiser just tests positive or negative. This clinic tests for strains too and I\'ve got about 10 of the most high-risk ones for developing into cervical cancer. I asked their recommendations and all they said was get re-tested in a year. When I asked about abstinence they said they don\'t even recommend it! WHAT???? She says that 50% of girls/young women become positive on their first sexual encounter and that 80-90% of all sexually-active adults are HPV positive at one time or another, so why bother? YIKES!! Well, I\'m going to be abstaining until I find out I\'m negative, especially with such high-risk strains!!\r\n

Sorry you think this is a joke! I thought I was dealing with adults here on a serious subject and that we could all perhaps learn some useful info, but instead I get a juvenile smart remark. What good does a "bitching" attitude do anyone, including yourself saved1986? Never mind, I'll research this elsewhere.
