I don't take a seperate vitamin A supplement. I use Country Life brand Daily Total One Multi vitamin and mineral supplement that has Vitamin A (as beta carotene, retinyl palmitate) 5,000IU/100%.

Here's a bit more information on vitamin A...https://www.natmedtalk.com/wiki/Vitamin_A

Vitamin A can be toxic. It is an oil soluble vitamin and can be stored in the body, building up over time. I seldom take vitamin A without thinking of that, certainly no more than 5000IU a day and only 3 days a week. I take beta carotene, which is a pro-vitamin A. The body will convert as much as it needs and eliminate the rest.

I've had problems with another oil soluble vitamin. Vitamin E. It was a temporary problem and was expensive for me at the time, because I had to go to an eye doctor to find out what was wrong, only to discover that I was consuming too much vitamin E.

Yes. I know the great benefits of vitamin A.

My eyes were becoming very unfocused. This was long before I needed glasses (near sighted). The doctor said he could see striations on the retina. He asked several questions. One of them was whether I was supplementing vitamin E. Yes. I had just started 400iu daily of mixed vitE I can't remember if it was mixed tocopherols. This was in the 70s. As soon as 2 days after I stopped, things were back to normal. BTW, I no longer wear glasses, because I had laser surgery to correct near sightedness in one eye. So now I am near sighted in one and far sighted in the other. Together, I am 20/20. Pretty good at 63 y/o.

ok,i think ima cut down on vit e than,i guess i have the same problem, but i notice it ALOT when reading,i cant focus my eyes on what im reading its like im seeing the whole picture, its weird actually and recent, and it makes it very difficult to read, even when i put the glasses (i never wear them,i have extremely low eyes problem, how its called i dont know but mine is 0.5,really low i was told and i dont have problems generally, good eye sight since always)
sometimes i tried closing one eye and reading like that,or closing the other and it actually made it abit easier, but yea exactly unfocused,so what else did the doc say, just too much vit e???

btw i was at a doctor for my eyes some 6-7 months ago, perfect eyes,a bit sensitive, and a 0.5 (how its called) in greek is miopia

Too long ago. Can't remember what else he said about eye focus causes.

For eye care:

  1. Carrot juice is a perfect provider of nourishment for healthy eyes, as it is a richest source of vitamin A. This juice can be taken in any amount and at any time. Twice a year use carrot juice as a treatment-drink 1 glass of it every morning during 1 month.
  2. Parsley juice is very effective at many eye diseases. Cataract and conjunctivitis are among them. It is one of the strongest juices; therefore it is not advisable to drink more than 30-40 ml a day. Use mix of parsley and carrots juices.
  3. Beet juice provides a good eye care by cleansing the eyes, blood and the whole body. Add 2 tbsp of beet juice to the mix of carrot and parsley juices.
  4. 40 g of crushed calamus (sweet flag) roots put in 200 g of 40 % alcohol or vodka, cover with tight lid and let stand in dark place for 8 days, squeeze out and filter. Take 20 drops 2 times a day before meal.
  5. 2 tsp of sweet flag roots put in 1 cup of boiling water and steep, covered, for 2 hours. Filter and take cup 3 times a day 30 min before meal.
  6. 1 part of crushed barberry leaves combine with 5 parts of 40% alcohol or vodka, let stay for 5 days and filter. Take 30-40 drops 3 times a day before meal.
  7. 10 g of dried crushed schizandra berries put in 1 cup of boiling water and boil for 15 min at low heat, filter and add boiled water to make full cup again. Take 1 tbsp twice a day (Both times before lunch). Schizandra is not recommended for anyone wth insomnia, hypertension and heart and vascular diseases.
  8. 1 cup of wheat kernels mix with 1 tbsp of sugar and warm boiled water, just enough to moisten the wheat. Let stand in dark place for 12 hours. After that keep the wheat in fridge. Take 1 tbsp in the morning on empty stomach. When this portion is done take a break for 10 days and repeat. For the full course of eye-care treatment you will need 3 cups of wheat kernels. It is a powerful eye care remedy.
  9. This remedy is believed to be able to treat myopia at any stage. Place layers of elder berries and sugar in glass jar and let stand for 3 days outside in the sun. Take 1tsp 3 times a day 15 min before meal for 1-2 months. Repeat 1-2 times a year if needed.
  10. Take 1 tbsp of fresh onion juice, mixed with equal amount of honey, 2-3 times a day.
  11. Combine mash of rue grass (10 parts), mash of parsley (1 part) and honey (1 part). Take 1 tsp 3 times a day 30-40 min before meal.

wow,awesome

i have in my future plans to buy a juicer, youve surely heard about the gerson therapy for cancer,i dont have any cancer (i think and hope) thanks god...

but if the gerson therapy can cure it,what can it do to a ''healthy person'' like me,so a juicer and preferably (although i dont think ill have that anytime soon) my own veggies garden to have FRESH fruits available, grown by me to ensure organic and healthy final product, that would be awesome and as healthy as it gets...future awaits
