Default Uggggggggghhhhhh. (all vitamins synthetic?)

ALL vitamins in supplement form are synthetic? Even in organic vitamins? I knew that to be true in Centrum and One-A-Day vitamins and what not, but now the Alive! I've been taking and all the other "good", "whole food", and "organic" brands? Really depressing. I've been doing my research and getting it from numerous sources and it turns out most of the isolated forms of B-vitamins are chemicals that come from coal tar while the real B-vitamins come from nutritional yeast and rice bran. Ascorbic acid isn't even vitamin C and actually oxidizes your cells when taken over 500 mg per day. These are only but a couple of things I've learned in my research over the past few days. Very depressing. Essentially, when you take a multivitamin of any kind, even an "organic", "whole food" kind, you are taking the isolated chemical vitamins which only mimic the actual enzyme/cell/real vitamins from food/whatever, as real vitamins are different, real, and include co-factors which are needed. Long-term use of synthetic vitamins damages your DNA and body and "kills you early", along the way it depletes your health rather than helps.
Can anyone weigh in here?

Default Hmmmm?

Hi CSwifty, welcome! You've got me wondering about my vitamins now. I was sure my Carlson Natural Vitamin E was not synthetic, because it was the d-alpha, not the dl-alpha. But, I just read online that acetate=synthetic, and the label reads "d-alpha tocopheryl acetate from soy"

I can't remember what I read about E, but even the "natural" E came from something not natural/disgusting. Here's one page from my history that explains some things: https://www.ehow.com/how_7837425_tell...synthetic.html
It really has me down, because I've recently really gotten into vitamins and learned all about them over the last year and now find out that even the "organic" and "natural" good vitamins are synthetic and with a few sites I've read, take 5-10% of the time off of a person's lifespan. I guess I'll start looking into herbs or something.

Edit - Sorry, I posted this when it appeared that my last post didn't make it through.
In my readings, I thought the same thing about vitamin E. But it turns out even the good form of E is from a bad source. Can't remember what, but it was "synthetic" as well. This has me in somewhat of a depression because I was really getting into vitamins over the last year and now I've stopped taking them and looked into other things like chlorella and spirulina

Yes, those are generally fine and not synthetic as long as you buy them from a reputable quality brand.

You can get your antioxidants, vitamins and minerals through whole food supplements - for example, I take borojo supplements, which is just the dried superfurit in a capsule - all natural

As mentioned above Vit E in the d - alpha tocopherol from is natural. Some are natural, but most are synthetic. Except for vit E, as a chemist I am suppose to tell you that there is no difference between nat and synthetic vit C. However, if you get your vitamins from natural sources, you get co factors that improve their potency.
