Just curious what you folks think about giving my kids fluoride tablets (as recommended by our dentist) and our kids drinking fluoridated water (as recommended by the FDA, and CDC). Is it really good for them? I will be doing some of my own research while I gather responses here. Thanks!

Jesus no it's absolutely horrible for anyone. If you're getting adequate amounts of calcium, vitamin D, and other nutrients, and not eating a bunch of junk food and putting all kinds of toxic petroluem derivates/assorted neurotoxic carcinogens that we're told are perfectly safe, tooth decay and many other conditions wouldn't be a problem. Our teeth and bones require calcium and vitamin D, those are what build our enamel, and they contribute to many other vital processes as well. Fluoride indeed coats the enamel, but it also enters the bones, preventing calcium absorption and proving weaker than calcium. It has no other nutritional benefit, and is a cumulative neurotoxic. That means even small doses aren't safe, and effects on the brain and nerves get worse with repeated exposure. The CDC and FDA are paid off to approve a lot of things that are unsafe, and the promotion of fluoride is just a way to make money on a byproduct of industrial processes they don't wanna pay to dispose of.

Run away from fluoride. Far away. Throw that Colgate toothpaste in the garbage can. I use something called Peelu. Also, most "filtered water" or "purified water" still contains fluoride.

I make my own toothpaste. 5 tbsp calcium carbonate, 2 tbsp baking soda, 2 tbsp coconut oil, and cinnamon oil to taste. I go with 25 drops/half a tsp for that size batch, but it may be too much for some people. You can use stevia for sweetness, I did but stopped because cloying sweet just doesn't feel clean to me.

Does your dentist also recommend lead tablets? Or recommend that your kids take up smoking because they are not getting enough tar? Just get rid of that dentist and find one that doesn't recommend you give your kids rat poison -- which is the main household use of fluoride throughout the world.
