Interesting article. I wonder what the stroke risk is. Are they meaning death?
An evaluation of over 84,000 women determined that substituting beef with chicken, fish or nuts lowered the relative stroke risk in women by -27%, -17% and -17% respectively.
I believe in high protein, somewhat high fat nutrition. It has been my way of eating for most of my life. (I'm 59.)
I've come to believe that this is the way our bodies can thrive because amino acids and fatty acids are critical for health. Our body can't produce some of these without dietary intake. Carbohydrates break down into glucose and our body needs that for sure, every cell runs on glycogen but suprisingly our body can use proteins and fat and break some of it down into glucose.
