Please help
Hi i'm new here and was wondering whether anyone would be able to give me some advice. I have been suffering from seb derm for about 6 years now on and off and it is driving me nuts. Looking back it seemed to start when i started drinking alcohol which i have now given. I also suffer from several allergies and have constant dark circles around my eyes. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what i could possibly do about this. Thanks

I have some allergies also, and the dark circles, although less than I have had for 40 or so years.
I do not know the complete answer, but for me it appears that a mold allergy is part of the problem. A homeopathic remedy has helped this problem quite a bit.
I think you might want to see a doctor that practices homeopathy or someone who can run an EAV type test, or muscle test, on you and see what turns up.
I am not thoroughly convinced that these work, but I have seen some evidence that they can find things that are hard to detect any other way. It is a calculated risk, in that it may work, but also may not work.
Allergies are really difficult to nail down. Skin prick tests are not very accurate for internal allergies. I had one and it never picked up the mold allergy. A good Chiropractor found it with a muscle test, which I was also skeptical of.
It is also possible that you are suffering symptoms of an early manifestation of a future autoimmune disease. If this is the case, your immune system is not functioning properly.
I have not found the cause of this, as I have this problem. It can be somewhat corrected by using Low Dose Naltrexone, but that is speculation for now. Something to watch closely in the future.
I would consider having vitamin D levels checked also, as low D is turning out to be a pretty common cause of many medical mysteries.
Good Luck

Some seborrheic dermatitis gets cured up with MMS, as well as dandriff issues. You might want to look at that. www.jimhumble.biz
we have a subforum devoted to mms use in the alternative therapy forum

Thanks
Hi Dan and thanks for your reply. . .think the vit D may be worth trying as i probably get very little as i dont consume any dairy (one of my allergies). Perhaps i'll try a supplement. I also tend to get a lot of nasal congestion which i am pretty sure is down to allergy.
What do you mean by autoimmune disease and what can i do about it ?

I am stepping out into my own theory of autoimmune disease, but it is not that far removed from what is known.
For one reason or another, some people have a problem with the immune system not working properly. It could be repeated exposure to vaccines, antibiotic exposure especially flouroquinolones, flouride in the water, or pathogens, such as the XMRV virus. No one knows for sure.
In my case, this dysfunction results in Crohn's disease. From my experience treating it, Crohn's is simply an accumulation of bad bacteria in the intestinal tract that the body tries, but cannot, get rid of. This leads to a constant low grade inflammatory response, that damages tissue and causes the symptoms of the disease.
This immune dysfunction could have caused any number of autoimmune diseases, but I happened to get this one. I could develop another one, as often happens, or I may be lucky and only end up with this one. Since I am treating the cause, as nearly as I can, I am probably not going to have symptoms of any of them.
When I see someone that starts out with allergies, dark circles under the eyes, and a skin condition, it makes me suspect that the person could already have the dysfunctional immune system, but has not developed any serious disease from it yet. I have a minor issue with Psoriasis, see the connections? It took me over forty years to develop these conditions to a point in which it was giving me trouble. They were minor issues until recently. Not much improves with age.
Arrowwind had a very good suggestion in using MMS. The same product brought me out of a stubborn Crohn's flare by killing whatever bacteria was causing me problems.
It is a catch all treatment. We have no idea what bad pathogens we have in us. Many are not even identified by scientists yet. MMS allows the immune system to kill whatever it targets, as long as it is acidic in composition. Acidic pathogens are almost never beneficial to a human.
If MMS works, and over time you develop the same symptoms not using it, you are going to have to look at trying to get you immune system working correctly, one way or another.
It is not an easy thing to do, but knowing that it could be a problem, will keep you from wasting time not treating the cause.
In my opinion, using an immune suppressant drug to treat autoimmune disease, should be a last resort option. While this is standard procedure in the medical field, it leaves you wide open to develop other autoimmune diseases.

Should take vitamin supplement, like me i use to have dark circle and huge eye bags.
The reason probably was nutrition, not enough vitamin to maintain my body, because i have had some supplement about month ago....and now it has gone.
And the reason of my eye bags was drinking too much water before i sleep.

I would not bother with a candida diet. You kill some candida and the rest will feed off of the dead ones. We all have the candida yeast. Just control it by keeping its environment somewhat acidic. Best way to do this is with digestive bitters. Also probiotics produce acids that help to control candida and other pathogens. They don't try to do this. It is just part of their nature. It is best to control your diet by avoiding sugar; which feed the candida and other bacteria. Unfortunately our friendly bacteria feed off of sugar too. The probiotics also thrive off of soft fiber. So give your body more food that contains fiber. Also supplement with rice bran or oat bran; which are the best source of this kind of fiber. Wheat bran works too; but many are sensitive to this.
The immune system relates to a lot of functions in the body. The largest part of the immune system is our affinity with friendly bacteria (probiotics). I'd say a huge percent of the immune system is the probiotics. Some have said 80%.
The candida diet will have you believe that your foods should help you achieve an alkaline environment. This is a myth. The body has numerous mechanisms to balance the pH. Your body even produce bicarbonates to increase the pH and hydrochloric acid to lower the pH. Many other mechanisms are used too. You will just tax the immune system, if you continue to make your body more one way than the other. Besides, how is it that the friendly bacteria are so friendly? They produce acids that control or kill the bad bacteria. Think lactobacillus acidophilus. This is the species that most controls the candida yeast to keep it from morphing into the aggressive fungus. Candida is dimorphic. It can convert to fungus and back to yeast again. The object is to just control it.
Most all allergies can be controlled by healthy adrenals. Dysfunctional adrenals will not produce the necessary hormones to control the symptoms. Cortisol and epinephrine (adrenaline). The adrenal glands require vitamin C. When you are unhealthy or have allergies, the body will give priority to the adrenals for the use of vitamin C ; which reduces available vitamin C for other functions such as white blood cell activity leading to immune suppression. So during unhealthy periods, you will need more vitamin C. Also, the adrenals need vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). A b50 complex would be good to supplement. Anything more than 50 will just make bright yellow pee - very pretty but useless. Bee pollen is the highest herbal source. Do not take just one vitamin B. Take a whole complex; so others won't be depleted.
Licorice root is great for the adrenals, as well as ashwagandha. I like powdered; so there are no fillers. Licorice kills viruses and bacteria, raises interferon, is a steroidal anti-inflammatory, and helps other herbs to absorb and function better. Other adaptogen herbs would help as well. They stabalize the immune system. Not too active; nor too sluggish.
This is still only parts of the immune system. But working on this will help the rest. Dysfunctional adrenals can cause problems for the liver and thyroids.
Seaweed (kelp) is great for the entire endocrine system.

Hi jfh and thanks for your post. I have often thought that perhaps there was something up with my adrenals and have done quite a bit of research into it. A lot of articles said stress plays a big part in wearing them down and this really hit home with me, as iv'e experienced much trauma in my life that has caused stress, anxiety and the rest of it. Wasn't aware that the adrenals contribute towards allergies though. Iv'e just started taking a B complex, high dosage vit C and vit D. I have got a product somewhere called adrenogen by a company called metagenics. They contain the following
Ingredients:
Each tablet supplies:
• Riboflavin; 10 mg
• Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCl); 25 mg
• Pantothenic Acid (as D-calcium pantothenate); 50 mg
• Raw Adrenal Concentrate (bovine†); 80 mg
• para-Aminobenzoic acid (PABA); 25 mg
Do you reckon they're worth taking then ?
Thanks again for your help.

Metagenics is a good company but check into Standard Process for your adrenals (the one for adrenals is called Drenamin) and maybe your entire endocrine system because when one is off the others usually are:
www.standardprocess.com
Read the article there on Protomorphogens

I personally don't take any glandular product. I read and heard that they can shut down the specific gland's production. Like a laxative product, which after a few days use, can shut down bowel movement. I don't know how much or how long; but I don't need any more problems. So I just stay away from them. You should consider that.
I know that stress has caused most of my health problems; which is due to adrenal failure - or near to it. I can remember being under severe stress at 3 and beyond; and that was nearly 60 years ago.

Try Olive leaf extract
Look up specific information on olive leaf extract, which also kills candita and boosts immune system. Dosage is 2 capsules three times a day. I have no candita. Hope this helps.

intestines, adrenals, and liver
Here's my two cents worth (and that's probably about the amount you'd spend on it!)
The dark circles are probably due to an adrenal issue as has already been mentioned. Try this, stick your tongue out (looking in a mirror of course) and if it seems to be wiggly and jerky, sort of hyper, you may have an adrenal problem. Anther way to self check is to look into a mirror, using a flashlight, see if you pupils tend to open and close in a fluid motion. Often times these two things can give you a hint. A response muscle test would work from a competent tester. I do it all the time and it hasn't failed me yet.
Also, most of the time with skin conditions there is a problem with the liver. In today's very toxic society I find this frequently as well so herbs like yellow dock, burdock, and dandelion root work really well. In fact, I make a decoction using those three and have the person drink it for just a few days. Often the skin problems will disappear completely. Other times more work is needed.
Probriotics were mentioned as well and that would be good. Unless your tested for candida you won't really know. Usually folks will go on a candida diet and fungal detox, etc. but I learned recently that cellulase will eat up the candida like a pac man. I haven't tried it but a trustworthy practioner has suggested it. Many times, especially if you've been dealing with sinus issues for a long time, an intestinal cleanse is in order.
I've probably just reiterated what's been said before as I did not read all of the replies but you may find something useful.
