Most doctors are not aware of LDN. Drug reps do not tell them about it because it is compounded and there simply is no amount of money to be made off of it.

It does not have the amount of studies behind it that are needed for every autoimmune disease. The ones that have been done are quite impressive.

The really good thing about it is that when it works, and it usually does, it allows your immune system to eliminate most of the bacteria, fungus, etc that is causing your symptoms. You do not have to identify each and every pathogen or treat most of them.

It is cheap. I pay about $35.00 a month and my insurance covers it, even though they shouldn't.

Since yeast is a tough one for even a healthy immune system, it would be a good idea to reduce it by other means. Yeast also breaks down the mucosal barrier in the intestinal tract which allows many of these bacteria and other substances into the blood stream creating other problems such as arthritis and allergies.

There are two bacteria that are suspected in arthritis, but I do not remember off hand which they are. It does not matter as long as the LDN helps your body kill it off.

you can join the main yahoo group for ldn and there they will help you to find a prescribing doctor.you can learn there a lot about the treatment and ask all you questions.

lowdosenaltrexone : Low Dose Naltrexone

there is no money to be made so the pharma industry does not promote it.the people that gain from it and could avoid the terribel medecines are the promoters.

this woman keeps a list of doctors prescribing ldn

I agree that there aren't very many recorded cases or testimonials out there about other autoimmune diseases. Mostly M.S. I looked and listened to You Tube videos for hours this morning trying to find a good one to send to my brother whose wife is possibly beyond help with Alzheimer's disease. He's a hard one to convince when it comes to natural remedies.

Appearantly we aren't allowed to put links on here at all now. The You Tube one I just tried to add didn't even show up. I also received an email a while ago that z1000a posted a message in my broccoli thread that had a link, and the entire post didn't appear on the forum. One of my posts that I put in the Links topic for convenience so it wouldn't get buried was move to the General topic and buried on the second page.

Well, I see that you're links are ok z1000a. lets try mine again....

YouTube - LDN Advocates Panel. 02

I used the You Tube application the first time. This time I pasted it directly and it looks like it worked! Like I meantioned earlier, it's the only one I could find about Alzheimer's disease.

Low dose Naltrexose seems to be good for autoimmune disease in general. I'll keep reading and looking for more validation. I don't want my daughter to get started taking a lot of drugs for pain so I feel this would be a better choice. Her Dad's spine was fused from his waist through his neck before he was 38 years old and his doctor gave him a choice of going on drugs or taking up to 16 aspirin a day...he chose the aspirin. I don't know how his stomach stood taking 4 aspirin at a time, but I don't think he took that much every day.

my wife has also AS and her spine is also fused, but the nsaids destroyed her gut so now for 20 years she is on prednisone but ldn and D_phenylalanine helped her the last years with pain and inflamation.

I'm sorry that your wife has had to go through that. Once the spine is fused there probably isn't much that can be done except to manage the pain and inflammation so hopefully it won't get any worse. Did the LDN make much difference?

I'm going to be away from my computer for a few hours so have a great day!

when she came to the menopause nothing helped, until dr rind the us(we are from the netherlands) advised us to look at natural progesterone cream and later on the ldn and d-phenylalanine made the life ok.therefore we were so glad to see the girl of the 27 with the ldn come off all medication and without damage can function.

If I had this disease I would give Serrapeptase a try, for at least 2 months.

Good idea Arrow. I've taken that myself in pill form before and even ordered it from a Naturopath online in a liquid form combined with glutathione and nebulized it into my lungs. We lived in a two story house with the fridge downstairs, so it was too hard for me to go up and down the stairs and I gave up...then the solution was out of date. I may try it again, but it's expensive. I thought it would be good to remove old damaged cells and scar tissue.
