Default Salt!

Salt has had a bad press in recent times - albeit due to man's ignorance and misuse. Yet it remains and forever will be essential for all human life.
Apparently, there are over 14,000 different uses for salt. Everything from the extraordinary* to the mundane.

(* For the superstitious among you, if you break a mirror, sprinkling salt on the broken shards will negate the seven years bad luck!!!)

They have found skeletons of people that are 3 million years old. No skeletons of people over 10,000 years old contain salt. That is when people began consuming salt. If you ask your MD if you can put 4 ounces of salt in water and drink it in his office, he will say "no." That is because it will kill you.

Exclamation SALT!

There are some positive uses for salt in baking, etc. but usually it's just a
pinch or small amount. Definitely not in the quantities that many folks sprinkle on their food.
I've never found putting salt on Any fruit to enhance its flavor.
However, there are many good household uses for salt, like the copper cleaning, etc.
One food I can't eat without some salt are eggs and I like a bit on fresh tomatoes too.
For people who perspire a lot it's suggested they replace some of the salt lost in perspiration.

Salt does have other uses. It is biblical and was used in Mel Gibson's movie Passion of the Christ. It was rubbed into the wound of Jesus to make it hurt more. It kills life so originally there was no refrigeration. So they would use it on fish to keep it from going bad before the fermentation could take place. I read a book on the history of salt.

It would disrupt the fluid balances of the body. You would be quite sick, if not dead. Your vascular system might explode! Salt in moderation is good for you. Doctors have focused on salt as the culprit of disease and ignored the reality.. Its that dam food pyramid thats been killing people along with lots of marjorine and other plastic fantastic foods.

Craving for salt is really a craving for trace minerals in many cases.
I am about to start experimenting with an ocean minerals product, it tastes pretty salty but its got tons of other trace minerals in it. I put it on my plants once a week in the garden but I think Im going to start taking it myself... still looking into it
