Default Which is the BEST Essiac tea?

Can anyone help me to decide which is the best brand of Essiac tea, please? They all seem to claim to be the original, Rene Caisse forumula. Some have four herbs, some have eight. I need to order more for husband, and I just don't know which brand to buy next. The last supply I bought was FlorEssence, and for some intangible reason, husband didn't like that one! Maybe it's vibes were wrong, or something.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi, I don't know if this is the BEST Essiac, but I can recommend this herbalist, and he makes up Essiac, so it might be worth a look. He is in Dorset, England. https://www.godshaer.co.uk/

Rosnor, very many thanks. His place is just 45 minutes drive away. I have e-mailed him so I hope I can order some more tomorrow.
You are a fund of useful knowledge!

Higher Nature still do essiac but call it sheep's sorrel now. [no doubt per EU rules]

Joyce's reference to EU rules is correct. Higher Nature has this to say about their version of Essiac

Herbal Complex

This herbal blend is based on the original Rene Caisse formula, Essiac, which can no longer be legally sold in this country. (Sadly, as the UK authorities are now enforcing the Medicines Act by the book, medicinal herbs can no longer be sold under any other name than their contents).

Hi all,

I noticed that statement too, when looking at their website>Perhaps it hasn't filtered through to the place in Dorset yet? Also, here is another place selling it as Essiac, https://www.sulis-health.co.uk/sulis/...s.shtml#essiac
- comes in dried herbs or tincture.

Hope this posts ok< my computer is behaving very oddly<

I checked both sites and ordered from Godshaer. I chose that one because he is a professional by training and qualification, and by the way he practises. The Sulis site is only a sales site for cheap products.
Well, you get what you pay for!

I agree. I am sure that the quality of the herbs will be better from Godshaer too, and that counts for a lot. I hope your husband likes this one, and that it works for him.

Rosnor, have you ever noticed how we have to keep things simple for our men? The Essiac I brew for him has to be kept in a Kilner jar in the fridge, which means it is out of site most of the time, therefore out of mind.
This new one from Godshaer can be left on the counter top, in sight, so he might remember to take one teastpoon, twice a day.
Do you think it will work? LOL

Jo, how is hubby getting on with the Essiac? I came across some more info today, whilst looking for advocado oil. Thought I'd copy it for you, there is some interesting reading here, including possible side effects - so might be worth you having a look. They also make up their own Essiac.

Thanks Rosnor. I bookmarked that page - it's a good one.
Husband is managing to take his Essiac! Unusual stuff, barely a liquid, not quite a solid. It's thick and gloopy and almost needs to be helped out of the bottle, then cut off the desired amount. I suppose that is the slippery elm, making it thick and gelatinous.

Interesting to read about side effects, but so far, nothing like that has occurred. When I brewed the tea from dried herbs, there was always a lot of sediment, and I encouraged him to include it in his drink. By the amount left at the bottom of the jar, he didn't do that! Just as well, it seems.

There is an Essiac forum there as well - https://naturaltalk.users11.donhost.c...forum.php?f=15

I take slippery elm at times, it is globby, but wonderful stuff. It is the only thing that settles my husbands indigestion, and if my tummy is iffy, it sorts it out almost immediately. I wouldn't be without it.

It sounds like the Essiac you have now is very concentrated, which is good value for money I suppose. Do you really have to cut it up?

Glad your husband hasn't had any of the side effects, hopefully he wont.

Do I really have to cut it up? Almost - when pouring it from the bottle, it's necessary to use a spoon to stop more than is wanted from falling into the glass, so yes, I suppose I do "cut it off"
