Axona is the new medical food that I'm sure Health Professionals will prescribe rather than using natural coconut oil or the MCT oil derived from it.

I have an aunt with alzheimers. What I do is take her a home made cake occasionally and use extra virgin coconut oil in place of butter when I make it. (As well as 50% whole wheat in place of white flower).

Thanks, my aunt died of AD years ago. I take a bit of coconut oil almost everyday in my coffee, also started using it in baking as saved1986 recommended in the past.

Omega 3 fish oil (DHA) is listed, and I'm happy to be taking this for many years now. I use the Now brand liquid which has 475mg of DHA per serving, and I take two servings per day. My husband gets Now DHA-500 softgels, but won't take EVCO unless it's in a cake.

I haven't taken niacinimide for years, maybe need to re-think that. Honestly, I take so many supplements already, I hate to add to the count. There's regular niacin on my shelf, which works well for sudden headaches, but haven't used it in years, also hate the red itching reaction.

Axona $100 average cost charged per month, available by prescription only via health professional.

Extra virgin organic coconut oil $12 per month at iherb

https://www.iherb.com/Nutiva-Organic-...32-g/7311?at=0

Its similar to the prescription fish oil scam which also costs about 9 times as much as the natural supplement.

It is probably better than the fish oil scam. That fish oil is chemically modified.
