Heart disease getting better here, but getting worse over there

While the United States has enjoyed a gradual decline in death from heart disease over the last 4 decades, eastern Europe and Russia have had an INCREASE in heart disease since the 1960's.

Why do you think this is?..

The top two killers are cancer and heart disease. Heart disease kills less because cancer kills more.

There is no decline, only manipulation of the numbers.

Probably a switch from a traditional diet to a more convenient quick one and less walking.

Outstanding Liverock! Way to go!

No question increases in smoking and excessive alcohol consumption deteriorates health, and the cardiovascular system is not exempt from harm from such a lifestyle.
