Default Is something wrong with me?

In school, I have a pretty high overall GPA, which is 94%. However, my SAT score is quite low. I scored a 1310. Why is it that I can do so well in class, but on the SAT I am practically a dinosaur? I feel stupid because of it, even though I keep trying. My uncle, who is a successful computer engineer, and is also very brilliant, scored very low on his SAT as well.

Also, do you guys think that this low SAT score will lower my chances of getting into college? (I plan to go to a CUNY school, meaning it is public and in the city/state of New York).

From reading your posts in the past I would say that you worry too damn much about small things. You also seem not to confide in your parents or immediate family.

Well, to be honest my parents couldn't care less. My dad lives far with his new wife and children. My mom only worries about herself with her economic problems and depression (which I still can't figure why this is so). The rest of my family lives far and doesn't keep in contact with me. And when speaking of college, that is not small, it is big... it is my future!

Smile Ahh..

It sounds like the typical American dysfunctional household. My oldest got his Masters at Suny, Albany.
You might want to try to find a campus forum from the school and chat with students who have like questions. Its also a great way to make friends.

SUNY schools are pretty great. Not only are the inexpensive but they don't rely heavily on the SAT. Most likely I will go to a CUNY school, such as CUNY: Hunter College or CUNY: College of Staten Island.
