Default Black tongue

This is so bizarre. I've experienced this off and on for about a year. It seems to occur when I'm doing things known to alkalize your system such as apple cider drinks and drinking wheat grass. Today I've had plenty of raw garlic and onion and my tongue is black. I'm starting to worry. It's even discoloring my teeth. I look pathetic!!! Chinese medicine looks at your tongue and analyzes it. I can't remember what the black means.

Here's a site that may help, maybe your black is actually considered a shade of purple.

My dad used to drink several cups of black tea per day, and it was causing the same symptoms as you discussed above.

The stained teeth can be cleaned using a lemon or orange based toothpaste, and lemon juice/lemonaid cleaned his tongue, although he switched to lemon candies as he got sick of drinking lemonaid..

I think I discoverd the culprit. I have a pomegranate/papaya digestive enzyme that I've been taking by the spoon. The pomegranate even stained the tips of my fingers. How embarrassing to ask the question.

Very interesting site; thank you Kind2C. Mine has a slightly coated white coating but no cracks.
I think maybe due to weather/temps changes.
