Default Nanobiomechanics and a new understanding of diseases

Technology Review had a fascinating article on how Disease infected cells are rigid and do not flex, have more difficulty moving through the blood stream, causing diseases such as malaria. There's an amazing picture of a cell being stretched. Scientists say that by measuring the force on cells, new and effective treatments may be able to be discovered.

You can read the article here: https://www.technologyreview.com/read....aspx?id=16475

Default inflexible cells

It has been known for quite some time that red blood cells have trouble getting through tiny capillaries when they get too large. Some of these vessels are only one cell wide so the article makes sense to me.

Default changed red blood cell shape

https://members.aol.com/dstormmom/vetcenter/les.htm

This doctor looks at blood under microscopes. He has found the same changed shape in red blood cells in patients with Gulf War Syndrome, after recent vaccination, FMS/CFS/ME. The blood cells cannot get through the capillaries.

This site has a picture of Chlamydia pnemoniae elementary bodies being carried on red blood cells.
