Default Is oxygen good or bad?

I understand that cancer and most bacteria and other harmful agents tend to be anaerobic which I think means that they cannot live in the presence of oxygen and prosper in an oxygen-free environment, yet we are told that anti-oxidents such as Vitamins C and E are good for us. I don't understand this - it seems contradictory. Is oxygen good or bad?

Just try living one day without it. Bet you can't!

Dr Atkins cured a breast cancer by injecting 03 into it....that is ozone, oxygen is 02. its action is through oxidation. You need oxygen to kill microbes and keep the immune system healthy. Ozone is one way of delivering the free radical of oxygen that can and will do much good. Many toxins will steal oxygen thereby depriving the cells of oxygen that it needs. In this oxidation process the toxin is most often nuturalized and then eliminated if the organs of elimination are working well, especially the lymph system, liver, colon. Extra oxygen is always best for the body, for detox and to maintain cellular health. Cancer is the result of lack of oxygen for one reason or another and has an anerobic nature. To make things more complicated "oxidation" does not necessarily include the loss or addition of oxygen in a chemical reaction. Herbs and other nutrients can also bond onto toxins and help to eliminate them, as well as providing food sources to cells.

Technically, however, with the discovery of electrons, oxidation came to be more precisely defined as the loss of at least one electron when two or more substances interact. Those substances may or may not include oxygen. (Incidentally, the opposite of oxidation is reduction — the addition of at least one electron when substances come into contact with each other.)

That got me thinking. Would breathing an oxygen enriched air be helpful in fighting off an infection/disease?

I don't think so... only in the form of ozone, as the free radical 01 is readily available to annihilate a microbe. Oxygen in general will maintain a healthy immune system and millions of other cellular functions. re-read my post....I added another paragraph.

I know we discussed ozone generators before, and just wanted to mention that I found one that should be just right for my needs.

I want to use it to rid the basement of that "musky" odour, and also want to experiment with ozonating filtered water.

This is the unit I decided to go with. Its regulary $300 plus, but got it for $230 and free shipping. It also comes with a free spare generator plate, and 6 year warranty.

Specifications for DC PRO450 ozone generator

To answer the question, yes, ozone kills germs. It kills bacteria, mold, yeast, fungus, and mildew, and makes a smelly room smell fresh, just like the air right after a thunderstorm.
