What happened was that I had a very painful learning Experience on the correct use of essential oils!
Some years ago I was the proud owner of my very first bottle of Four Thieves oil. Then I had an ear infection, so I reasoned, quite brilliantly I thought, that putting some of that oil in my ear would be a good antibacterial thing to do.

Well, I haven't forgotten the pain yet, and hope I never forget it.

After that, I learned that one should NOT put undiluted essential oils, of any kind, on to any mucous membrane, or into eyes, ears, nose, etc. Properly diluted, with the right oils, it is OK, but I had a lot fo learning to do back then! So when you mentioned "drops" my mind went back to that pain!!

If there is an accidental spillage of essential oil in eyes, ears, etc, use another oil to wash it out. Olive oil, almond oil, whatever is handy. Water doesn't mix with oil so it is not efficient at removing it.

Sorry if I alarmed you, scorpiotiger. It was my own remembered alarm that was talking in that post!

Wink No colds for me!

The last 3 colds I started to feel coming on......runny itchy eyes, tingling in the nostrils, sneezes.......the SECOND I felt it start I began a regimen every 3 hours of 2000 mg. vitamin C and 3 capsules of the echenachia/goldenseal combo. I took that for 24 hours, then backed off and took 1/2 that for the next couple of days every 4 hours. I never came down with the colds at all.

It seems to work. Our colds only last about four days, while everyone in our office is ill at least twice as long with colds.

D Bergy, when you do a sweep, how do you know that you aren't disrupting normal cells? This is what I've never understood.

are the ranges that disparate between bacteria, viruses, and normal cells?
