Yumm! I wonder what gives the purple color and causes it to bleed to the beans. Iodine? I also wonder if this is forbidden to my budget.

wow!! This looks great! Thanks, Iggy. I love trying these "unusual" foods.

I wonder if this would make a good "dirty rice" (a new orleans cajun dish)?

think of the name... Dirty Forbidden Rice

sounds pretty racy!!!

I know that y'all are probably familiar with Wasabi Peas but I only discovered them about a week ago. I enjoy adding them to my salads. Don't add them until right before serving or they will get soggy. I like them so good that I've ordered 10# on the web.

BTW, oil just hit $100 a barrel, gold $861/oz, and China imposed a tax on all grain exports. Now is the time to stock up on staples. I just bought 50# of barley and 5# of flax.

A good way to store grain is in plastic garbage bags stored in metal garbage cans(rodent proof). No, I'm not a Mormon, but better safe than hungry...plus, bulk buying is cheaper.
I'm looking for a source of fava beans (rich in B-17).

No, not on the label.
Mine is "hapi", product of Thailand.
Bought in oriental section at WalMart.
Haven't received my on line bulk purchase yet.
