Default First Day of 10th grade

For some reason this year feels weird. All of my friends are in some other classes. I have to get used to new teachers. The only one that is the same is my Science teacher. I'm glad to at least have her back.

I kinda miss my old teachers, being how nice they were. I am kinda worried about the new class I have, Weight Training. I have no gym. The teacher isn't THAT bad. His name is Mr. Elleo. But he is kinda like a jerk.

So far the only person I know from last year is a girl I sometimes talked to. She is in my last three classes. My best friend is totally separated from me. He has the same teachers and stuff, but at different times. This kinda upsets me because he was a really good friend and now he's... gone. I feel like this year at Lincoln High School is going to be long and miserable. Ugh...

Plus I have to take a language, so I chose Italian. It was either that or Spanish. But since I have family that knows Italian, I chose that language.

Does anyone have any advice for me to get through the year good? And pass my subjects?

Study hard!

Seriously if should you have a problem or question in any of our classes, immediately ask the teacher for clarification. That is what they are there for! Also others may have the same question, but are afraid to ask. Of course some teachers may become upset saying that you are asking too many questions, but so long as are asking them in a civilized manner, that is their problem because they apparently are not explaining the material in an understandable way. If your teacher wont or cant answer a question then find someone, anyone who can and will. Leaving a question unanswered now can be the very bit of information that you will be required to know latter on in some other class.

As long as nobody picks on me it will be a lot easier to pass. When people bother me I get all upset and lose a lot of focus.

So far these stupid girls asked me when I first entered the classroom:

"Wow, are you REALLY in the tenth grade?!" and laughed. I don't really look 15, I kinda look smaller.

Hi Spidey, welcome back... How was your summer? The first week of school is always so miserable. Just hang on for a couple of weeks, and you will be feeling more comfortable... As for the gym class, I suggest you read these two threads on the forum:

https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20587894/?GT1=10357

https://www.medscitalk.com/ftopic27508.html

This second one is about Jack Lalaine (sp) I doubt if you have ever heard of him, but he is probably one of the first muscle men ever on tv.. I remember my mom watching him. But the amazing thing about him, is the fact that he still lives what he teaches!! (correct me if I am wrong Gerry, he is still alive, yes?)

As for the girls asking if you are really in tenth grade... hmm Im reminded of the movie the pacifier, with vin disel (I know thats spelled wrong)...... at one point in the movie, when they are doing the play, the boy ask Vin disel if he thought the girls would think he was weird for being in a play... Vin Disel said... I think they probably already do think youre weird, but you will kill them later on!!!!! I agree with that statement... you might be smaller then most of the others in your class, but you will grow into your size in time.. My daughter will tell ya, there are alot of sexy smaller size guys...Dont worry, just do your best in school, have fun and remember you are only in tenth grade once (we hope) make the best of it, and make lots of good memories... I agree with mad sci, ask questions, lots of questions, and dont be afraid to ask for help!!!!! Keep your nose clean, stay out of trouble, and dont run your mouth to others... Treat the other kids with the respect that you want them to treat you with.... hmmm do onto others as you would have them do onto you..... and remember, all the great advice the other posters gave you last year, still holds true, go back and read some of those threads... have fun, and dont get caught being in the forum when you arent suppose to!!!!!!

I well remember the 10th grade. I was lonely because all my pals went out for football...........So, I joined the team too. Virgil Smiley broke my nose the 1st day. Virgil was 6'4" and I was 5'7".......he hardly had to raise his elbow.

I just bought a used car from my old coach, 53 years later.
