Default Pediatric colonoscopy result questions

HI!

My 11 year old son had a colonoscopy with biopsies last week to test for crohn's disease. I haven't talked to the GI doc but hoping for monday. I did get a peek at the draft pathology results.

This is what it said "inflammation with lymphonodular hyperplasia and increased eosinophils throughout the colon."

Is this probably crohn's? My son also has JRA and takes remicade, methotrexate and naperson. He also has asthma, GERD, Ig A Nephropathy.

Thanks!

I do not wish to sound unsympathetic, but why is an 11-year old taking all those pharmaceuticals?

What is your son's personality like? His alphabet soup of symptoms/diagnoses sound stress-related to me (my brother had Crohn's, possibly misdiagnosed, however).

My advice would be to hit the books and research all you can about the diagnoses your son's doctors have given. My goodness, at the rate he's going, your son will be battling pharmaceutical side effects right and left before he's even an adult.

Here's a good site to start with: www.doctoryourself.com

It seems like with pharmaceuticals, you have to stay one step ahead of the doctors, whose right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing re side effects from the pharmaceuticals they prescribe.

Also, if you eliminate all the junk food from your son's diet, you can help to give nutraceuticals (food as medicine) a fighting chance.

Best wishes to you as you care for your son's compromised health. I feel for you.

Well, in my opinion all those drugs he takes is causing his bowel condition. I have seen this many times with people who have been on these meds.
These meds are designed to repress the immune inflammatory response. Do you even know where the seat of the immune system is?

It is in the bowels. Both large and small intestine and in particular a place in the small intestine called the peyers patches. You must read these sites to fully understand, especially the second one.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyer's_patches
https://www.worldchiropracticalliance...1998loomis.htm

I had the opportunity to care for the poster child for RA during her old age and decline into death. She is famous in certain circles but I will not post her name to protect her privacy even though she is now in spirit only. I even remember her as I was a child, seeing her picture. She had the honor of having exaclty my mothers maiden name, and an unusal name at that.

Her aged body at 59 whas contorted and in constant pain. Psychologically she was distraught. She had had some triumph in her life though. She became an acupuncturist, and OMD and had an office. Her crippled fingers could place the needles accurately, she told me. She had gone on to learn after being treated by a doctor of Oriental Medicine who had helped her cope with her condition. She managed her pain with dignity and grace.

If this child continues on the path he is on he will likely have less than this lovely lady had in her life. At least she reached out of the box and found some help.

The reason, Ruby, that this child is taking all these pharmaceuticals is because he is functionally disabled and in pain. This has led his mother into the hands of the pharmaceutical industries clutches. She has been lead to believe that first of all, there is no cure for JRA and second of all, that these drugs are required to give this child some sembelance of a life without pain and to maintain function of limbs. Both of these beliefs are lies. This mother is afraid and does not know who to trust. She is distraught and fears for her childs life and welfare. She has been brainwashed to believe that if she does not do these thing for her son that she will be a bad mother. There may even be family members coercing her.

The truth is is that this mother is a good mother and she is doing all she knows how to do. The truth also is that this mother despartely needs an education on naturopathic approaches to this problem. She now has her homework cut out for her. The truth is that there is much more available to people with RA than my lovely friend had access to during her life.

Please tltkj, start reading and then when you have enough information develop a plan.

Here is your assignment.

Get the book by Jordan Rubin called "patient heal thyself"

Now don't stop here. This is just the beginning.

Go to my ozone thread on this forum and read ALL the sites posted about ozone therapy.

https://www.liveoxygen.com/1.html
I recommend homozon for this child along with any other therapy you decide is necessary after you educate yourself. He needs his bowel rebuilt and homozon can do it. It will fully detox his body in 6 months to a year with the Breath of God - oxygen/ozone.

Now go to Dr Donsbachs site and read about the little boy, Payton Doss that was cured with natural therapies on his testimonial page.
https://www.hospitalsantamonica.homestead.com/index.html

Dr Donsbach has cured so many people with arthritis, including me. He is a master in the treatment of RA in the alternative circles. I did not use the treatment Payton used. He has a number of alternatives. I used CMO,
cetyl myristoleate. Do searches on this. Get Dr Donsbachs books, about $4 each on arthritis.

Now this mother, if she does her assignment will be equiped with some real information that will save her son from a world of pain and debility and give him hope for his future.

In my opinion, crohns disease is vastly over diagnosed. I think that many consultants will diagnose it if there is inflammation in the small intestine, and will diagnose UC if is in the colon. Often, without looking in to what factors caused it (eg candida, leaky gut, allergies, drugs). In many cases it could be healed fairly simply, WITHOUT the need for steroids and NSAID's - but that would involve more time than they are willing to provide, and would not generate the income from (reapeated) drug prescriptions.

tltjk, I would strongly suggest that you start a huge research project to find medical doctors who practice alternative medicine too, I can't begin to tell you how different their approach is to colon problems specifically Crohn's and Colitis..

Please check out Dr. Klinghart, he is world famous, especially in Europe, he has an office in Bel View, Washington, he has a web site
www.neuraltherapy.com
If you need more info on him let me know. He has a soft spot in his heart for kids, and gives priority to them for scheduling..
If you can't go to him, find another MD who knows of alternative thrapies. At least you will be well educated to make decisions...

I'm totally appalled at this story. Methotrexate indeed! I completely agree with what Ruby and Arrow had to say about it. It is important to get the boy out of the clutches of these doctors. Give him a chance to let his own body heal itself and build up more strength. It is not unusual for kids to have every disease in the book, and never need any medical care at all for the next 40 years, after they grow up.
All this testing and challenging with medicines will bring down any healthy person.

Well, we must remember that JRA, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is nothing to sniff at. This boy does have a most serious disease but the cure will be found through the information I posted and the secondary symptoms of IBS will go once he's off the drugs, cleanses his body, nurishes it well and on to a correct system of healing for the JRA.
