true, but who says you would be the only one telling a poster about a typo?

\r\n \r\n Yes, there is an option to control the title modification, currently the forum is using the default vBulltin time limit - one hour. I have put the title into the URL, it\'s better to use the default option.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Another forum I know of experimented with editing time. They started with one day, then went to one month, and now they have settled on 10 days. It seems to work OK. There are fewer complaints with ten days, than with any other time limit.\r\n

• Edit the title: one day. Thread title can only be edited from \'Thread tools -> Edit Thread\'. It\'s different from the \'Edit\' Button, \'Edit Button\' only changes the post title, which won\'t be reflected on the thread list page, even if you are editing the first post.

• Edit the content: 10 days.
\n
• Display \'edited by\': two hours. - If you edit a post within two hours, \'edited by...\' won\'t show up.

I'm considering to edit thread titles from now on, if they

- have typos.
or
- are completely meaningless. e.g. 'I have a question', 'Help me'. It would be better to use something like "Question about xxx'.

This is mainly for search engines, with a more accurate title, the thread may draw some visits.

This will be very rare, maybe one or two threads out of 100.
