My son entered Grade 6 this year and his school recently sent home permission slips for several immunizations.
My own immunizations were many years ago and I have no idea what the norm is. I`d rather not have my children injected with unnecessary chemicals, but I am not such a Luddite that I want them to be needlessly at risk.
Any advice on the following immunizations? Are they all well-tested and commonly known to be acceptable? Are any of them relatively new immunizations to children's innoculation schedule (and perhaps not as time-tested as the others)? Any controversy around any of them?
1) Meningococcal C Vaccine (1 dose)
No idea what this is for.
2) Chickenpox vaccine (1 or 2 doses)
My son had chickenpox when he was small, so I don`t think he needs this vaccine.
3) Hepatitus B Vaccine (2 doses)
No idea what this is for. Is Hepatitus B a common health risk for the average person? How is it transmitted?
4) (Girls only) Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine
I have a daughter who is a few years younger than my son, so this vaccine will be relevant is few years.
Is this necessary? Again, is this a common health risk for the average person?

This is to prevent meningococcal infection that can be life threatening. It is very rare. I would not do it. A healthy diet with real food will be her best support.

He doesnt need the vaccine, neither does your daughter. It is best to get the chicken pox and get over it, offering lifetime immunity. The vaccine does not offer lifetime immunity and some people who get it end up getting the chicken pox every year. I can't help but wonder what types of shingle cases they will be having when they get older. As soon as your daugher has the opportunity to get chicken pox make sure she gets it and get it over with. The older you are when you get it the worse it is. The only disqualifier for this is if she has some sort of autoimmune disorder.
3) Hepatitus B Vaccine (2 doses)
No idea what this is for. Is Hepatitus B a common health risk for the average person? How is it transmitted?
This vaccine has caused serious health consequences for some people. Independent research has shown that it may be related to the development of diabetes. It is a sexually transmitted disease or from tainted blood products or the use of shared needles. Risk is relatively low for getting this disease if you avoid predisposing behaviors. Mostly it is a disease of drug users. In all my years of nursing they have tried to push this on me but I refused. You should too. I have had coworkers suffer consequences from this vaccine. If your kids decide to become prostitutes or drug users you might consider it.
4) (Girls only) Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine
I have a daughter who is a few years younger than my son, so this vaccine will be relevant is few years.
Is this necessary? Again, is this a common health risk for the average person?
HPV is a very common infection. there are many varieties of this virus. the vaccine only covers a few of them. Some people who have taken this vaccine have died. Others have become chronically ill. Almost ALL sexually active people will get HPV. Most people will throw off the virus without further incident. HPV infection can be cured with MMS1. I would use that if I got the disease.

There is so much controversy surrounding vaccines it's very mind boggling on who to believe. (I think the advise from arrowwind is very sound imho).
People hear of the cases where vaccines cause brain damage or autism in children.... then you hear "experts" say well those are the minority and vaccines help more people than it harms.
But do you really want to put your kids at risk of something, even if the chances are remote?
You have the right idea by asking the right kind of questions. It shows you are an intelligent person that can think for yourself. It's a shame how many people blindly follow the "accepted norm".
Perhaps the principle reason the medical-government-pharmaceutical establishment has worked so hard to trash Dr. Wakefield is this: Along with researchers at the University of Pittsburg, University of Kentucky, and the University of Washington, Dr. Wakefield is a coauthor of a signal semi-randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study on the effect of Hepatitis B vaccine on newborn monkeys.
Hepatitis B vaccine was given to 13 male macaque infants; 7 more served as controls (receiving a saline placebo or no injection). The vaccinated ones exhibited a significant delay in the acquisition of three important survival reflexes the root reflex, where the animal turns its head in response to a brush on the cheek; snout, opening his mouth in response to a brush on the forehead; and the suck reflex, sucking on a nipple placed in the mouth. This study shows that one mercury-containing birth dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine can cause significant harm. This carefully done study carried out by highly respected, NIH-approved primatologists has explosive implications.
