Default Vitamins for 3 Year Old

I would like to get some vitamins/supplements for my son as he is a very picky eater and I want to be sure he is getting all he needs. I have tried various health smoothies, which he tells me are "yucky garbage" no matter what I put in them. I try hiding healthy foods in his meals as well as always offering vegetables and fruit. He loves fruit but I can't get him to eat vegetables at all. I will cook a healthy meal and he eats just the meat.

So I would really like to pick up some vitamins for him. Only healthy stuff, such as things I could find on iHerb or Well.ca. I think a good multivitamin is necessary, and finding fish oil I can actually get him to take would be great. Maybe probiotics? He has some digestive issues from time to time. I'm looking into a greens blend powder for myself, it would be great if I could get him to take that too. Any other ideas?

I don't have any recommendation, but my wife's parents let her get away with being a picky eater and eating what she wants. Now in her 30's she hasn't had a lot of common things like cauliflower. She asked me yesterday what cauliflower tastes like. She had olives for the first time this year. She is the pickiest eater I've ever meet and I think the word "picky" makes it sound like it's a good thing, when in reality it's a bad thing.

A multivitamin I think would be good if your child isn't getting all the nutrients it can from food, but I would not give up on vegetables and fruits.

Not sure how he thinks the smoothie is yucky garbage. If he likes the fruits, start mixing in only the fruits, then slowly add things like spinach and other things in the fruit. Just slowly add them that he won't probably be able to tell as the sweet flavors from the fruits would take over other things you are putting in the smoothie

I have tried just fruit in smoothies and he thinks they are gross. He doesn't like the texture.

I definitely don't plan on giving up on vegetables, I still offer them at every meal. I was just like him as a kid and now it's hard to find a food I won't eat, so there is some hope. I think if I keep eating it around him eventually he may like it. He tries everything. He just spits it out for the most part. It's tough because I try every day with the same results, I have tried showing him a wide variety of vegetables and he thinks all of them are bad.

Source Naturals is a good brand, here are some choices from Vitacost, most likely available where you like to shop also some probiotics and omega 3.

If your not a picky eater I'm sure your child will most likely grow out of it, if you don't him have his way often. My wife's entire family are the most picky eaters I've ever meet. He used to say vegetables are for animals to eat, not humans and now he's battling cancer.

Wish I could offer some advice, but I only have a pregnant wife and no experience with child vitamins.

Sometimes a child needs to be hungry enough so they eat their veggies. That means cut out appetite curbing drinks like juice between meals. If he's given a little meat and a lot of vegetables at dinnertime he'll eat the veggies. Green beans, onions and carrots either fresh or frozen, (forget the canned stuff) are great.

Does he eat applesauce? That's a great way to get a picky eater to eat a vegetable powder blend. Mix it in. It'll be green but teach him that green food is good. Vegetables - yum.

Let him see you eat this way and in time he'll follow.

Even at times he has been very hungry and all I offered was vegetables, he turned it down. He would rather eat nothing than eat veggies. He is just extremely picky. I always have it on his plate, though..

He doesn't like applesauce, just whole apples. He doesn't like the texture of anything mashed, hasn't since he was a baby eating pureed food. He only drinks milk and water, no juice, and usually just water unless it's first thing in the morning or before bed.

He has only just started showing an interest in my smoothies in the morning. He keeps taking my cup and drinking some. So I'm going to try making him his own again. It is just frustrating to pay for the ingredients, make it, and have him waste it. I might try just giving him some of mine in his own cup for a while.

I've been using NOW brand lemon flavored liquid omega 3 fish oil for a long time. I have a problem swallowing those large capsules. Using a liquid, you can put a small amount in almost anything, like a smoothie, or disguised in a snack, like apple sauce or yogurt...even ice cream.

Or use Krill oil. Very small capsules. Much better than fish oil, IMO. Omega3, DHA, EPA.
