Default DRINK "RAW MILK" IF ARTHRITIC

There was an article that stated foods to NOT eat if you have ostoporosis (osteoarthritis). One of them was dairy. Does anyone know if it is ok if the milk is RAW.

hm.... I was under the impression that someone with osteoarthritis needed to avoid the fat in 1%, 2% & whole milk, and that skim milk was okay to consume.

In the old 'Arthritis Cure' book, it shows a good osteo-arthritis daily meal plan that has a glass of non-fat milk for breakfast, lunch and night-time snack.

You should not have milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream (You can have butter though), all the other dairy products have proteins that aggrivate arthritis! (As well as MS, asthma, scleroderma and any autoimmune disorder). No problems with fat (unless it is omega 6 fats or trans fats).

I appreciate your information very much----am glad to hear butter is alright to consume; haven't had butter in 5 years as I just included it with dairy.

Butter is actually a very healthy food.

"In addition to vitamin A and E, butter contains vitamin D which is essential to the proper absorption of calcium and therefore necessary for proper bone growth and the development of healthy teeth. The rising rates of osteoporosis in milk drinking western nations may be due to people choosing skim milk over whole, thinking it is better for them. Butter is also protective against tooth decay.

Butter is one of the few foods that supply an adequate amount of iodine in a highly absorbable form. Iodine is critical for proper thyroid functioning as is vitamin A.

Cholesterol in butterfat promotes health of the intestinal wall and is protective against cancer of the colon. Glycospingolipids, a special category of fatty acids found in butterfat, is protective against gastrointestinal infection. Children who drink skim milk have diarrhea rates three to five times higher than children who drink whole milk. Butter's short and medium chain fatty acids have a strong anti-fungal effect and play a role in the treatment of candida overgrowth.

Butter contains small but nearly equal amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids. This excellent balance between linoleic and linolenic acid helps prevent the problems associated with excessive consumption of omega-6 fatty acids."

Butter is fat. No protein! It is fine. Also, for auto immune diseases, cut down on meat. Take fish oil, ginger, turmeric. Good luck.

We have places here I can get raw milk but I tend to stay with regular whole milk from a local diary.I don't see how it could be much different. At my cross-fit gym they say no dairy but it's hard to beat a glass of whole milk and a few Oreos (we only live once). Diary does show up on most of the lists I see for inflammatory foods to avoid. I know so does the sugar in my Oreos.
