Top 10 reasons for Vet Visits

Top 10 reasons for Vet Visits
Ever wonder what are the top health related reasons people bring their pet to the veterinarian? According to VPI, here they are:
Dogs
1. Ear infections
2. Skin allergies
3. Pyoderma (hot spots)
4. Stomach upsets
5. Intestinal inflammation/diarrhea
6. Bladder diseases
7. Eye infections
8. Arthritis
9. Hypothyroidism
10. Sprains

Perhaps an iodine suppliment is worth while after all. :tailwag:

I have seen that they put iodine in some dog foods. Probably it is not enough. I have no idea what is normally availabe in iodine to a dog who eats a natural raw foods diet... but since I dont understand the thyroid function of a dog perhaps it could be another issue... I assume that it is not to dissimilar than ours.. but thats my assumption.

Our last Shepherd was at the vets mostly with ear infections and atopic dermatitis, which I now believe was caused by a compromised immune system from being vaccinated yearly, we didn't know any better then.
The two dogs we have now are fine.
