Vitamin C reduces halogen based oxidants. Ascorbic acid used to reduce halogens

For 5 months, in 2007, I was practicing orthoiodosupplementation; using more than 100mg daily. Today, I use perhaps 12.4 mg twice a week for maintenance. It seems like I keep retoxifying myself; even when I use mild forms of detoxification. Things don't move through my system very well or very quickly.
Jim I bought the liqui-kelp too. I want to take 4-5mg so does this mean I need to take 4 drops 4x/day?

I'm not familiar at all with liqui-kelp canfree. For iodine therapy, is it important to use the Lugol's formula liquid or the Iodoral, which is also the Lugol's formula in a pill. Each drop of Lugol's is about 6.2 MG.

The reason for the Lugol's recommendation, is because it was and is used major clinical studies; and has proven to work, at least, for the cure fibrocycstic breast disease.

Lugol's liquid comes in 2% and 5%. This is not the drug store stuff; as the Lugol's formula does not contain alcohol.

More very good info and where you might buy.

Iodoral is the pill form. It is a 12.5 MG tablet. It was used in clinical trials; because it is an exact measure where drops are not.

Companion nutrients are selenium and vitamin C. But take them about an hour away from iodine. They are powerful antioxidants. Iodine is an oxidant.

Also canfree, you should research for your due diligence before taking dosages beyond recommended daily allowances. This is why it is called iodine therapy; instead of daily maintenance.

Hypothyroidism, Functional Hypothyroidism, and Functional Hypometabolism this power point presentation makes quite a good summary for people new to the topic.

Before I read this I hadn't realised the optimum vitamin d status for throid receptor function is 50~70ng/mL. 125nmol/l~175nmol/l.

I wonder how many people would find that correcting iodine, magnesium and vitamin D insufficiency would solve their problems.
