Chelation should BIND metals for the duration of the chelation agent in the body. I'm not sure how ALA works. Does it bind or does it just cause the metal to be freed? You'd need to do research.
I feel the same as you regarding old fillings. I don't like, but I'm not going to spend the money and effort to replace them. I'm not convinced of the replacements anyway. Through the years, most have already been replaced. I even, unfortunately, have 3 crowns that replaced the worst of them. I wish I could afford to just get implants.
I've read that after 2 years, and metal release damage has already been done and very little is left to do. Those bad metals are bound tightly to other components within the filling. So chelation should clear your system. But those first 2 years can be very damaging.
