Default I get canker sores

when I take vitamin supplements like I should..

does any one else have this problem?

I am pretty sure it is due to acidosis.. but how do I prevent it?

I am lactose intolerant... so I need D and Calcium.. I also need MG..

Vitamin B deficiency can aggravate them. There are so many things that can. Even Celiac and Chrones can make you susceptible. Acidic foods can do this to many people as well, such as citrus fruit.

But I haven't heard of any herbs or supplements that can cause a break out. I think licorice root can help. It has been used for 1000s of years for many things. It's an adaptogen. If you have high blood pressure, don't take the licorice root for a long duration. Otherwise it is quite safe.

Suck on a zinc lozenge. Zinc is well know for killing pathogens.

A team of physicians at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev has discovered that a nightly dose of vitamin B12 is a simple, effective and low risk therapy to prevent Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS), better known as "canker sores."

Licorice has been used for over 4000 years as a healing agent. The medicinal capabilities of licorice root (Glycyrrhiza) extract (GX) have been established by long-term clinical use and, most recently, by scientific research. GX has been identified to have anti-inflammatory, soothing, and coating abilities and provides proven, rapid relief for canker sores.

The authors examined the effects of an over-the-counter medicated adhesive patch (with extract from the licorice root) for treatment of RAU versus no treatment. After seven days of treatment, ulcer size in the group who received the adhesive patch with licorice extract was significantly lower, while ulcer size in the no-treatment group had increased 13 percent.

Lysine helps prevent canker sores and other pesky viral outbreaks.
