Default What is in Apple Cider Vinegar that's helping me so much?

Hi,

I suspect I have a major deficiency of some sort. I've been struggling with a number of issues like weight loss (/muscle loss), paleness, blurred vision, digestion problems/gassiness and unhealthy stool (not diarrhea but not ideal at all), chronic fatigue, psoriasis, depression, overall feeling of weakness.

Perhaps I should also add that I have had an alcohol problem in the past where I would drink about 8 beers a day but I've been sober for almost 2 years now. I don't drink coffee or soda and I generally live a very healthy lifestyle.

I've gotten blood tests and they came back fine, my doctor is putting everything under the depression banner but I really doubt that is the problem at all, as I'm 100% sure that if I felt healthy I would be a very upbeat person I always have been.

I had been been trying out vitamins like b1/b-complex/multi-vitamins/d3/C and they seem to be helping me somewhat but I havent figured it out 100% which is just frustrating me alot because I have had some really good days in the last half year.

Now onto the apple cider vinegar...

I had read about this stuff online so I bought some organic apple cider vinegar. The first time I used it was literally an eye opening experience, my vision was 100% better and I could see far in the distance again, I had energy and an overall feeling of "normality". Basicly I would give anything to feel like that day everyday.

I of course kept using it but I think that it's not all to the good and I want to find out which vitamin or mineral is in there that's helping me so much?

PS: Also, when I take a multi-vitamin daily, I look much healthier and get a bit of colour back in my face and a bit more energy but at the same time it's making me feel more depressed when I do take it, I think because of some of the other things that are in it that I don't need at all because I already have a healthy diet.

I want to figure out which vitamin it is that could solve my blurred vision and other problems so if anyone has any ideas after this long story I just wrote, please help me figure this out!

Hi Maulkie. Welcome to the forum.

Check here for reasons and benefits of apple cider vinegar. /f31/20167-apple-cider-vinegar.html You will see why it is helping you. The common protocol is to mix 2 tablespoons in a glass of water.

Beer contains phytoestrogens. Now, I don't know your gender, but it can lead to moobs. Also Dunlop's disease (where the belly's dun lopped over the belt).

Of all the alcohols, beer can contain the most fungi. This relates to some of your symptoms. This can last for years. In my case, decades. So, one thing you must do is avoid sugar which feeds the fungi. Actually sugar feeds all microbes, good and bad ones. Don't worry. They can still metabolize sugar from good carbohydrates.

That leads to another recommendation. Take probiotics, friendly bacteria. It is said that probiotics make up 80% of our immune system. I find that the best ones are the ones in the refrigerated section of the health food stores. However, you can find shelf stable ones. Just keep them cool anyway.

Hey, jfh.

Thank you for your response. I looked into probiotics just now and I think this will help me with my digestion problems for sure.

My sugar intake is already pretty low because it always makes me feel worse when I start eating pie or icecream etc. I will usually have less energy the next day, maybe I now know why.

We really do some stupid things to ourselves, Im just glad I could stop at a younger age (I was 24 at the time and had been drinking heavily since I was 16). If I continued I fear it would've gotten much worse.

Try maybe adding greek yogurt to your diet. It has probiotics, which might help you with your digestion issue, but there was a study with mice that yogurt helps with stress, anxiety and depression. I saw you that you had some depression is why I mention it.

I would also look into psyllium husk, it's the active ingredient in metamusil

I personally use greek yogurt and psyllium husk everyday

jbo thank you for your suggestions as well. I've been using some products with probiotics in them for about 5 days now and I'm already noticing a positive effect I seem to have more energy especially during work outs.

Just gonna keep using these and see what will happen over time.

I still think there might also be one specific vitamin in apple cider vinegar that would also benefit me if I took it seperately but I've no idea what it could be.

Quite a few of those symptoms sound like anaemia.

As for the ACV. A centuries old British folk remedy. Now getting a new lease of life thanks to the Internet.
There isn't really a magic ingredient, other than it goes in acid, but it 'burns' alkaline. In a nutshell, it alters the body's ph.
An acid state is at the root of all degenerative diseases, from arthrtis to cancer, so making the cells more alkaline helps to undermine all manner of ailments.
There are numerous books on ACV and its uses.

As for your overall health situation. Another even older remedy, ginseng, might be of benefit to you as it helps to re-balance the system. Korean ginseng is the most potent.
And pure ocean kelp contains a myriad of trace minerals and other nutrients. It's great for skin and hair and as a general tonic.

PS: Forgot to mention the blurred vision. How long are you on the computer for each day? It can really mess up the eyesight if you over-do it.

Blueberries & bilberries are excellent natural remedies for improving eyesight.

It sounds like you are vitamin d deficient. Go to your doctor to find out if you are or not. Its a simple blood test.

You've almost all of the symptoms I had before I was diagnosed with celiac disease and eliminated gluten.

Have you ever tried a gluten free diet? Do not ignore the rest of the advice you have been given, but consider researching gluten as well.
