Default Science Behind Earthing / Grounding

Earthing/grounding is basically grounding one's body to the earth by means of walking barefoot, sitting, sleeping on the earth, or touching something that is grounded.

Our bodies and the earth have electrical charges.

Default Earthing yourself depends . . .

Earthing yourself seems fine to me, but only when you are
doing so outside and away from any structure that harbors
electrical service.

Since any structure that is wired for and activated by 60 Hz
electrical power availablity presents any occupant with a
strong 60 Hz electric field, grounding oneself with a wire
may be more bad than good. Since a human body acts as a
functional 100 pF capacitor (approx) it becomes charged to
a significant level by the 60 Hz electric field. Connecting
yourself to ground by wire channels this energy--through
you--to ground. Whether this is good or bad is anybodies
guess at this point. In my view a benefit is unlikely. The
magnitude of the field declines rapidly as soon as you are
10 or more feet away from a building.

So go outside, get away from a building, and take your
shoes off . . . enjoy!

So grounding yourself is fine . . . just do it outside.

I agree grounding outside on the earth seems would be best.

I have heard going barefoot outside is good for you as well, and walking on cammomile flowers also.
I do think you would have to be careful where you walk though, as there are a lot of nasties on some foot paths.

You know what I do? Take all my clothes off (I'm by myself, in case you're wondering), jump in the river in the middle of the night and just sit there! It is so amazingly wonderful and it feels so good! It should be summer...unless you want to polar plunge. But this grounding thing kind of made me think of that.

I love to walk on the ground with bare feet. I find it as more of a connecting to nature thing than an actual electrical whatever you say it is.

My questions is how long do you guys do it for? I personally can't stand the feeling of grass in between my toes but I love the feeling I get after gardening. I guess everyone has to figure out what works for them.

With so many people working all day in office buildings and not taking time to take in nature are at a huge loss. I think it effects them mentally, spiritually, and physically.

I've heard/read a recommendation time of as much as possible but at least about an hour a day.

Wow, I must be super grounded then

In the summer, I am always outside laying in the grass or the woods, walking on the beach in bare feet etc. I am always surprised to hear people say this is something they "need to" do, because it is something I have been doing all the time since I was born!

I spend 3 to 4 hours out side in my garden nearly every day
does that mean I am well grounded or do I have to be bare footed to get grounded?

read the OP. when your bare skin is touching the ground, you are grounded. doesn't matter if you touch a live wire with your toungue, hand, foot or elbow, you will be shocked.

Does anyone know if I keep my socks on while outside if it'll remove the grounding effect. I hate dirty feet - yes, sometimes, I'm like a poodle.

Yes. If there is any benefit it will be very minimal (socks made from synthetic materials will likely stop the energy transfer 100%, but it's possible that you could experience a small benefit if the socks are made from natural fibers). But it is far better to go barefoot.

The Earth, the air, and the sunlight are all sources of electromagnetic energy and all have very profound effects on health. Even proximity to plants enhances your health. The more research you do the more you begin to realize that living as close to nature as possible is the only way.

Spend as much time as possible with your bare skin in contact with the Earth. Sunbathe daily and expose your bare skin to the air and wind. Go for long walks in the forest and inhale the oxygen and negative ion rich air. Spend as little time as you can in man-made environments with their toxic air and deadly EMR (even the negative vibrations from the people living a hectic city lifestyle will bring you down).

Sleep outside at night (on the dirt) under the stars and see how much better you feel physically, mentally and spiritually. Modern houses are deathtraps and really only fit as storage areas. If you must spend time in your house, fill it to bursting with living plants and flowers to improve the air quality and energetic atmosphere. Do the same to anywhere you spend lots of time indoors - your workspace, for example. Keep all the windows open 24/7 no matter the temperature outside and never use air conditioning or heating.

You can drastically reduce the health damage from living inside a house by getting air purifiers, negative ion generators, devices to cancel out harmful EMR, etc etc, but you're still being isolated from the sun and wind, the moon and the stars, all of which have many physical and spiritual effects not yet understood by science.

Touching something that is grounded will still allow the body to bleed off excess electric charge from harmful EMR and likely give the benefit of absorbing negative ions from the Earth, but the effect is still less then if your bare skin were in contact with the Earth.
