Citric acid is the principal organic acid found in citrus fruits. To meet increasing demands it is produced from carbohydrate feedstock by fermentation with the fungus Aspergillus niger and the yeasts of Candida spp. Effect of various fermentation conditions and the biochemistry of citric acid formation by A. niger have been discussed. Commercially citric acid is produced by surface, submerged and solid state fermentation techniques. Recovery of pure acid from fermentation broth is done primarily by precipitation with lime and also by solvent extraction.

By the way, aspergillus niger is used in nearly every digestive enzyme.

I activated mine with the juice of lime or lemon. So many use citric acid, and maybe since it is only drops, it won't be harmful. Also, the sodium chlorite should kill most fungi with osmotic shock. But I still don't trust it.

I don't trust citric acid.

I squeezed the juice of a lemon or lime, whichever I could get. Then I used the drops of that to activate MMS. This was the original Jim Humble recommendation.

I started MMS when he first introduced it. I used it for 9 months. I took it to 15 drops, then used only 6 drops for 9 months. It did not fix my problem with overwhelming fungus. The MMS did not hurt me nor did it help me. Of course it does not work for all things. It did help my solar keratosis for a while.

Why is it that you don't trust citric acid jfh? Its such a common product used in food canning for many years.

Some people swear by mms for fungus and others have no luck at all. Wish I knew why.

A 50% citric acid solution, in my opinion, is too hard on tooth enamel.

If you mix that 50% citric acid solution with an equal amount of distilled water, you will end up with a 25% solution, and double the amount.

If you use a 50% citric acid instead of a 10% you use less drops for the activation process. It all comes out about the same. Then it gets way way diluted when you add your juice or water to drink it... being only a small fraction of citric acid.

If your teeth are a concern just rinse your mouth with plain water after drinking the mms.

"Some people swear by mms for fungus and others have no luck at all. Wish I knew why."

I wish I knew why too. I'm deathly scared to take it now.

Should i be taking a "binding agent" like Chlorella or zeolite or citrus pectin in order to sop up any toxins when doing the MMS?

What do u recommend? What brand?

ALso, how is this supplement:
NOW Detox Support:
https://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Detox...Vcaps/532?at=1

Or these:
https://www.iherb.com/HealthForce-Nut...8-g/19296?at=1
or

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Is this company's MMS and citric acid good to use? I'm a but weary bc I tried calling the company, but the phone number is a 555 number (1-800-555-2316) and no one picked up (it rang and I got a generic voicemail).

Oceans Lab

Nevermind... someone picked up and she was extremely helpful.... definitely calmed my fears down!

Well many people who run on line companies are not around much to answer phones. I see no reason to think that their product is not good.

As I said, NOW brand chlorella is good and I gave directions in another post. Apple pectin is good too. In general NOW brand are good products.

I think being deathly scared is a little overboard. At least Hundreds of thousands of people have used MMS. Jim Humble says millions based on sales that different companies report. If it doesn't work for you then you move on to something else.

WHAT DO I DO?!
Any kind of weak acid can be used to activate MMS. That would include vinegar, lemon juice, or citric acid.

The citric acid you have is a 50% solution instead of a 10% solution. If you used a 10% citric acid solution, you would need 5 drops for each drop of MMS (sodium chlorite)
Since your citric acid solution is a 50% solution, you only need to use 1 drop for each drop of MMS.

There is no problem using MMS if you start out slowly, using only 1 drop to start with. If that makes you feel sick, then don't increase the dose. If a one drop dose has no effect, increase to 2 drops, and so on.

You should be able to work up to a 15 drop dose twice per day for a couple of weeks, however, this could take some time.

As long as you take your time, increase the dose slowly one drop at a time, there should not be any thyroid issues, gut problems, nor any problems, with the exception of the possibility of having the runs, however, that is considered normal.

I am wondering why your doc told you to get up to 15 drops 2 times a day. That is the old protocol. Humble recommends dosing every one to two hours now at lower dosages... generally 4 to 6 drops. some people do up to 10 if they can tolerate it but only if they can tolerate it. have you been to jim humbles site? you should read there. He has some pretty encouraging testimonials too www.jimhumble.biz
He does not sell mms

Pinballdoc... I am not as familiar with colloidal silver as I could or should be. How do you think is does for systemic candida? Ive never read any reports on its use for this. If you had systemic candida would you do it orally, emema? by IV?

Pinballdoc, thanks for the reassurance and info! Do you suggest taking anything to support the liver/kidney during MMS and/or to sponge up the toxins (like chlorella, pectin, zeolite, etc)? Any suggestions would be helpful! :-)

I was wondering the same about Colloidal Silver...can anyone provide more info on how to do this?

Arrowwind09: I'm not sure why he wants the protocol he suggested. He wants me to work up to 15 drops THREE times a day, starting with twice a day until I work up to 15 drops twice a day, then add the third dose in the afternoon. My assumption is because it is just more convenient?

There are a lot of things that neutralize MMS (Vit C, protein, antioxidants....which are in a LOT of things!) and it is advisable to take MMS on an empty stomach at least two hours away from food.... so my assumption is that by taking it every 1-2 hours, many of those doses are neutralized due to the foods we eat and the supplements we take. Since I eat 5-6 times a day and take other supplements with meals and inbetween meals, I surmise that the "three a day dose of 15 drops each" actually comes out to be more effective, since none of those doses would be neutralized (nor would the MMS affect my other supplements, like my probiotic).

That's just my guess. I see him today, and I'll inquire further.

Each protocol is very effective... but the frequent/mini-dose protocol is more effective for viruses. We don't think my issue is virus-related, but more related to yeast, fungus, and possibly lyme.

I have one question: Is MMS effective for oxidizing metals? There seems to be some controversy over this.

Most people I have discussed this with find that MMS works quite well one hour after a meal.

It does oxidize metals but it is unclear if it will take care of all the metals.

SO which protocol should I do to effeectively kill off candida, yeast and *possibly* parasites and lyme?

1. The traditional three times a day protocol of 15 drops each dose

or

2. The 1-3 drops every 1-2 hours protocol?

Which have u done?
